Screw thread not smooth, and press/release mechanism not intuitive - otherwise OK
This is OK, but I am not impressed. The screw thread is a bit tricky to get going into my Fujifilm X-T20 shutter button. Then, when I push the lever to shoot it stays pressed - to release the shutter button I need to pull back a lock ring (which was not explained and took me a bit to find out). So, taking several shots in sequence is a bit difficult.I used to have another shutter release where I would simply press the lever and when I let go of it, the shutter button would go back in a natural way. Then, if I wanted to hold the shutter button for a longer time there was a small screw or a mechanism at the lever that I could use to hold the shutter button pressed. This Foto&Tech cable will do its job for now, but if I find my old one I will go back to that one.

It works, best I can say about it
It's alright and seems to work. It's just odd that 100% of mechanical shutter releases are now this same design/manufacturer. I guess there isn't much demand for the mechanical wired kind anymore. I have a threaded metal one that has worked great for 20 years, but that I've misplaced - leading me to purchase this one. It works, but I'm hoping I find my old one and just keep this as a backup. I honestly wouldn't count on this lasting very long or taking much of a beating. For reference, I am using this on a FujiFilm X100. However it looks like it would work on my old TLR film cameras as well (with the little nipple adapter). I don't know how it'd work on anything else.

Chintsy piece of poorly machined junk, stopped triggering the shutter and started getting jammed for a while until I realized that part of the thread had come loose and bent into the path of the part that's supposed to protrude into the camera's shutter button. After removing that (sharp!) piece of metal, it works again.

Works good!!
Works good on my Fujifilm X-E!. Got stuck when I first tried it, but it was easy to fix. Little screw was a tad too tight. Turn a little and working great now, and all less than 5 minute fix..

It took me a few seconds to work out the lock. But this release works well and is compatible with any threaded shutter button. I use it on my old Pentax film bodies when they're tripod mounted.

Does what it's intended to do. The threads feel a bit cheap, but on a whole it's a well made product and works exactly like you'd think it would.

100cm mechanical shutter release ... sometimes
It works but is a little "twitchy" in that it doesn't always want to work properly.

I used similar gadgets about 50 years ago. This is not quite that well in build quality or operation. It is fine but needs a bit of fiddling and also when used with a flash on hotshoe, even a little movement (not even touched the plunger but just moved the cable) fired the flash. Very sensitive. Camera was a Fuji mirrorless. Looks like would have to get an electronic remote ($$$)Addendum: I should mention that many newer cameras equipped with wireless connectivity (Fuji and others) make available remote control apps on apple and android online stores. These apps are free and can be used on your phone and/or tablets and pads and allow not only a 'no touch' picture-taking but often also other parameters such as white balance, focus, aperture, shutter speed, ISO setting etc can be controlled. You can be at a fair distance (wild life shots for instance) and are able to see the image on your device and thus work the camera from a distance.

Satisfying to use
This is a pretty nice mechanical shutter release for the price. It presses smoothly and is quite satisfying to use. It's also a good length where it's short enough that it doesn't tangle in my bag, but long enough that it doesn't introduce shake when I use it with my camera. I've used it on my Minolta SRT-201, Fujifilm X100T, and Yashica MAT-124.
