A solid option for those looking for a Jazzmaster hard case on a budget
If you’re like me and have been searching for a decent hard case for a Jazzmaster but can’t find any on Facebook marketplace because they’re uncommon and don’t want to spend $150-$250 on the Gator/SKB/Fender equivalent, I’m writing this review for you!I got this case on sale for around $75-$80 after tax. That’s a good price on a new hard case whether for a common or uncommon guitar body style. While it’s allegedly designed to be intended for a Tele/Strat I had seen some reviews stating this case was just barely big enough to fit a Jazzmaster so I decided to give it a go. I’ve been working on this guitar for a bit making big upgrades and is now at a point where it’s ‘worth’ enough to require a hard case in my opinion, but it’s not a guitar I felt the need to invest over $200 on a premium case option.Received this ChromaCast case yesterday and have so far been relatively pleased. The overall fit and finish on the exterior is good and seems to be built and designed pretty well. The latches, while not heavy duty at all, do work and will do the job. (There is a key included for the lock feature which I won’t use) While I would certainly never throw this case off a balcony and expect it would protect my guitar from all harm, it seems like it’s protective enough for my uses. For reference, those uses are hauling around my church building, in and out of my car, maybe a gig or two here or there. As for the interior, also not too bad. The padding is ample enough and will provide some good shock absorption. For what it’s worth, because the Jazzmaster body is wider than a Tele/Strat, it is more of a snug fit which probably will be better in the long run. It is too snug, however, by the strap button nearest the neck. The way I’m dealing with it for now, as you see in the pictures, is by essentially ‘stabbing’ the cushy wall with the strap button. I may modify later to add a little room but it seems ok for now. The storage compartment is a little small in my opinion for how much room there is in the case. It will be fine for my needs, but if you’re looking to have more gigging supplies in a guitar case you won’t have much to work with in this one. I was pleased to see the headstock wasn’t bumping right up against the wall of the case. When I went to close the case I wanted to make sure the fit wasn’t weird enough to where the top would put pressure down on the headstock when closed. No issues there. Note for Mastery trem users: I follow their instructions to leave the arm installed and close the case with it on. No issues there either. The case is low profile and may appear like it would drive the trem arm into the pickguard, but that one checks out ok as well.About the only thing I would have a ‘complaint’ about is when standing the case up on its long edge. I use cases in this way all the time. There may be some variance from case to case with these, but mine did not stand up straight. To compensate I added some stick-on rubber feet I had laying around to level it out. It’s not perfect but a surprisingly quick fix to the issue. If I didn’t address that and left it as is, it’s not that the case tips over when standing on edge but it’s not far from it. Overall, not a surprising quirk for the price of the case. I’m still giving the case 5 stars as it’s still a great deal with, what I consider to be, a very playable injury. At the end of the day, this really is a solid buy. I may buy another one for a Tele I have that doesn’t have a hard case yet. As I stated before, if you’re looking for a new and budget-friendly hard case for your super sweet Jazzmaster, this case really checks the boxes!

Great quality Great price
The case arrived on time in good condition. My Stratocaster fits perfectly. Very nice interior in the case. Seems to be built well.

Great case. Fits Strat and Tele very well.
Very nice case fits my Telecaster well. I use this for moderate local gigging. Would recommend and buy again. ( I currently have three.) Note - One negative. On this last order of two cases they both arrived locked. Luckily, I have the keys from other case! Must be some smartass at the factory.

For the price...it's a decent case.
Ordered the Electric Guitar Hard Case and surprisingly received it within a week or so. It's an ok case especially for around $45. The interior is pretty nice and protects my Strat without any issues. The outside finish is pretty good. My only issue is the top and bottom are just out of alignment so I have to latch the center catch first after I line it up. It's not off much, but you want to make sure you are indeed latched before you pick up the case. Thus the 4 stars and not 5. If you want a pro case, be prepared to pony up at least 2+ times the $.Would I buy again? Yes, in fact I ordered another one for my Hot Rails Strat back at the beginning of April. I guess the boat from China is taking the scenic route over because it has yet to ship.5/16/17 update: I know this is an inexpensive universal case so my expectations are low compared to the Fender Pro Strat case I also purchased. I now will share something I find I don't like about the Chromecast case. The cutout for the neck is so shallow it might as well be flat. The neck does not stay in the groove when the case is turned on it's side to transport. The cutout should be deeper to cradle the neck. Other than that, it's ok for an inexpensive case. I would not use to check in my guitar in an airline as the case is too flimsy for that. It's good for everyday transport to prevent nicks and scratches to my guitar. Much better than a soft gig bag. Hope this helps.

Pleasantly surprised
When you buy a guitar online, you often get only a gig bag, or just a box that it's delivered in, so I needed a case, the cheaper the better. From some of the reviews, I expected much less than I got. True, it's a cheap case. If someone set my practice amp or amp head on my Rickenbacker case that came with the guitar, I wouldn't freak, though I would take it off and chastise them. If they did it to this case, they may damage the thin plywood lid and possibly the fretless Jazz bass I bought online (I've always wanted one). This case will be good for getting the new Jazz from place to place without exposing it to the elements. If I were still playing in a band or theatrically, I'd want a pro case, but I probably, in that case, would have bought it at a music store, paid more and have got a case in the deal .This case is gorgeous, doesn't smell bad, though it does have a "new smell", almost like pine. The hardware isn't top grade, but it's okay. I figure I'll have to make some foam inserts that I'll cover with a matching velour to keep the guitar from moving around, though you can see in the picture that the body can only move back and forth about a half inch. The guitar can move an inch and a quarter lengthwise, strap pin to head stock. There was a pair of keys inside, but I cant get it to lock, yet. I never lock my case anyway, my guitars are never out of my or a trusted acquaintance's sight if I'm say, using the john.If you want an inexpensive, nice looking case that you won't bang around, I like this one. 08/03/2020: I'm just re-reading this and I remember saying the lock wouldn't lock. I did, a week or two after writing the review, get the keys to work. So, if you buy this case, just fiddle with the keys for a little while. They should work. I have never locked the case though, after screwing around with the keys and proving that they worked.
