Coloring Flower Mandalas: 30 Hand-drawn Designs for Mindful Relaxation

Flower inspired mandalas
Although this wasn't my favorite book, I will say there are some really cool illustrations to color here. Most of which are VERY detailed ( I skipped quite a few.) I had to use my Staedtler triplus fineliners to fill the tiny spaces. Each illustration is printed on one side, the paper is not perforated. They're printed close to the binding, so you have to take care if you choose to remove a page from the book. I would lay the book out and gently bend it a bit, so I could tear it from as close to the binding as possible. Then I used my Fiskars paper trimmer to clean up the edge. I recommend using a scrap of paper underneath, as there will be a fair amount of bleeding.Overall I did enjoy coloring some of these illustrations, others just weren't my cup of tea.

Art as Therapy
The pictures were lovely, with a wide variety of spaces, shapes and flowers to color. There is something very therapeutic about being able to color a petal, rotate the picture a bit and then color the next petal, working round and round the picture slowly before moving to the next bit, which I imagine was the entire point. After I am done coloring, I feel relaxed and at peace, ready to face the rest of my day, which is something lately I've had some trouble with. I look forward to every new picture and how it makes me feel!My only issue was the my subpar colored pencils did not stand up to the depth and detail needed, so I had to upgrade my art supplies- which is less of a bad issue than a perfect opportunity to buy new supplies, something any artist (pro or amateur) will tell you is always a good thing.

I LOVE THE ART OF Wendy Piersall
I love this book and I am thinking of getting more by the same author. The mandalas I used to paint them with a friend of mine. In fact we also used to make them. One step at the time each one of us would start in the center core of the mandala and made a design. Then the other one would follow and would design the outer side, around the core, then the next one and so and so until completing the mandala. My friend told me that by starting that way and going from inwards outwards the mandala would excerce its full power. That means, we felt very relaxed while doing them and coloring them. It was a wonderful experience. And this book has the same feeling to me. Anyone can start from the place they prefer in the mandala. But I still start from the core and paint outwards, just as the way I used to do it. Because a mandala is not just a beautiful design, it is a spiritual design. And this author is a great spiritual mandala designer.

Good Collection of Designs
One picture per page, medium weight paper. I'm using this book as a place to practice with different pens/pencils and techniques. So far I have used, Triplus Fineliners, Sakura Gelly Rolls and Prismacolor Premier pencils. I have not had any issues with bleed through with any of those. My book has a couple of blank pages at the back so I was able to test my pens before starting a new design. In the introduction of the book, the author recommends using colored pencils, however, for the very detailed designs I prefer the Triplus Fineliners. Even though this is not one of my go to books for coloring, as far as adult coloring books go it checks all the boxes I'm looking for so I'm giving it 5 stars.

Love this coloring book
I love this sooooooo much. I have spent a number of hours on these lovely pictures. I used both colored pencils and sharpie ultra fine point markers. The intricacy of the patterns are very appealing and I have really enjoyed my time coloring these pictures. I have attached some of the finished pictures, one that isn't complete yet and one that I haven't started yet.

Color Your Way
This book started my love affair with adult coloring books. The designs are complex but not impossible, interesting, and completely beautiful. This book is so much fun. It gives you a ton of freedom to color these gorgeous designs- I can’t stop adding color and my own touches to all of these mandalas. It’s such a stress reliever to sit at the end of a long day and turn on the television and decorate a page. I liked it so much; I bought one for a friend! I can’t wait to compare our pages and see how they are similar or different. I love flipping through pages I’ve already done and seeing how the designs turned out. It’s a way to be creative without stressing my mind out too much- I save big crafts or projects for the weekend, and get my creativity flowing throughout the week with these books. This is the first one I picked up, and still the prettiest.

Already beautiful before coloring
A friend of mine recommended Wendy's books to me, and when I saw the flower mandalas I knew I had to have it. It just arrived yesteryear and I am thrilled! The drawings are gorgeous. I am still new to coloring, so I am putting off coloring in some of the mandalas until I get more proficient. I want these to look as beautiful colored as they do in black and white. The butterfly one will be my last because I think it is the most gorgeous!

Iif you love mandalas and you love flowers then you will really enjoy this book. Beautifully drawn, reasonable quality paper - haven't used gels yet but would always use lightly and with spare paper underneath to protect the next page. Eagerly look for her next book due out early next year.

Print screen command only produces a very small poor quality image
As this has been sold as a Kindle book and the pictures are for colouring in I expected to be able to download them and print them.I cannot see a simple way of printing them. Print screen command only produces a very small poor quality image.Very disappointing!
