Pour 2 cups of boiling water into the thermos, close it, and let sit for 5 minutes. While waiting the 5 minutes, heat up your soup or stew to boiling hot. Then pour out the water and pour in the food. Wrap the thermos in a cloth or paper towel, and place it into your lunch bag. You will notice that the outside of the thermos feels warm. This means heat is escaping through the thermos. Added insulation outside the thermos will help keep food hot. Keep the thermos in a bag until ready to eat.To pour your food into the thermos, you need a wide mouth funnel. The mouth should be at least 4" and the stem should be 2-2.25". If you plan on eating from the thermos, you will need a long spoon, around 8". Or bring a bowl and pour your food into the bowl when eating.Four cleaning, get a bottle brush. This will make things easier. You can drop you scrub pad into the thermos and use a fork to push the pad and scrub the inside, but the brush is just easier.There's nothing like a hot home cooked meal and this thermos help make this happen when you are away from home.
