Great Book
I've always had a facination with these aircraft yet never found a decent book on them until this one. Plenty of photos, great history, probably the most complete in one volume yet.

The Absolute Best Resource Available on Northrop's Flying Wings
Although published more than 14 years ago, this book remains THE best resource available on the Northrop Flying Wings. The entire story is told, beginning with Jack Northrop's earliest designs, and includes both paper-only concepts as well as actual flight test vehicles. The book concludes with a lengthy epilogue covering the modern-day B-2 Spirit. Emphasis, though, is placed on the XB-35 and YB-49, including their particular models and sub-variants along with their proposed missions and concepts of operation. The text flows well and is easy to read, while the photographic coverage is second-to-none (many in color). The bibliography is extensive and the numerous appendixes include flight logs, production data, aircraft comparison charts, first flight dates, aircraft statistics, and a chronology of significant events. It is clear the authors went to great lengths to find out all they could on the subject at hand. Their efforts in doing so are to be applauded, considering that not a single example of the XB-35 or YB-49 escaped the smelter's torch to be preserved in a museum today. Overall, this book is an absolute gem, covering more information in one place than any previous book on the subject, before or since. For anyone looking to discover more about these visionary aircraft, there is no better source.

This book is a gold mine
There aren't a lot of books around about the Northrop flying wings but this one is really an invaluable tool. Quite a bunch of historical and detail photographs you wouldn't find anywhere else. A must have if you're interested in flying wings or aviation history.

Worth The Money
If you have a serious interest in John Northrop's Flying Wings, this is absolutely the best book available on the subject. Authors did a wonderful job pulling together photos, including many in color. The color photo section also includes some B-2 pictures. But more important, the written narrative is excellent. The book covers Northrop's earliest days in aircraft design, and deals with all of his flying wing and tailless aircraft designs, especially the N-1, N-9, B-35, & B-49 projects.Worth the money if you're a flying wing fan!
