Nice fitting, easy wear shorts. Black nylon or like material. Washed and dried perfectly and quickly. The elastic waist does have a working drawstring should you need it. Seems true to size, no need to go up or down a size in my opinion. I have bigger thighs and I was glad the leg holes weren't tight. Nice depth to pockets. A zippered pocket on the back. I am happy with my purchase. Having said that, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.UPDATE... 8/30/22 - I ordered the 'turquoise' - it looks really nice and light in the photo - however - it is a VERY DARK teal. Just FYI. I would have preferred the lighter. But these shorts are really good.

Finally some comfortable shorts that are long without being as long as Bermuda shorts. They are comfortable and don't ride up or cause thigh chafing when walking! Bought in 3 different colors

I purchase these shorts in this style all the time. I have multiples of most of the colors. We live in Southern California and spend a lot of time outdoors. They are cool, comfortable and quick drying. We also travel a lot, so these fit my needs. I also like the fact that they are not too short (6" inseam). As usual Columbia has created a quality outdoor product.

I wear a 20 in jeans and ordered a 2x. These are to tight for my liking. A 3x would have probably worked but they were double the price. Order up a size or 2.

These shorts are great. Like everyone else said, they're fast drying. They fit me well, and are not too short. I only wish they came in more colors.

I own several pairs of Columbia Sandy River shorts and love them. Today I received a new pair. Imagine my surprise to discover that they have been totally redesigned and are now pull on shorts with no belt loops. I like zippered shorts that I can wear with a belt. Secondly these shorts were poorly sewn. Lots of loose threads at the crotch which made it look like these shorts would be holed in a very short time. I am returning these shorts. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I wanted something a little longer than all my Nike Tempo Shorts. These are very long and fit oddly. It felt like I was wearing a trash bag as shorts. Just not comfortable at all.

I ordered these shorts in black and am very happy with them so far. The fit is quite good and comfortable so I recommend ordering based on the size chart. They are a little baggier than pictured but that's great for doing outside work. The fabric is thin and light and perfect for hot summer days. It is also the type of material that dries very quickly. I already ordered a second pair in blue and am considering getting a third pair. I recommend these shorts and would give them 5 stars so far. As long as they hold up to wear and laundering for the next year I'll be happy.Update: It's about 6 weeks or so since I got these shorts and I am still very happy with them. They wash and dry on the regular cycle very well and do not require any special care. I mentioned that the shorts are a bit baggy. This is actually a good thing as the material has no stretch at all. I find them comfortable and would look at buying more shorts as well as other items from this brand. I've never been a Columbia wear person but this year ordered shorts, a jacket and a skort (on sale of course, being a bargain hunter) and am thrilled with them all. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
