Great value phone, but don't make my mistakes.
When I first found this phone, it wasn't yet on Amazon, and there was... a lot of wrong information. I remember reading someone saying that it had USB-C (It doesn't, it uses USB Micro), and that it had wireless charging (It also doesn't).The biggest issue that I didn't see was that it doesn't have CDMA. I was on Verizon at the time, and... Well, yeah. The phone works! You can call out. You can receive calls. You can get online. You can send text messages. But, here's the biggest issue: You cannot recieve text messages. Verizon uses that CDMA network to send text messages, so this phone never recieves them. It took a lot more effort than it really should have to get most of that information out of them, and they weren't the best at communication, but that's about Verizon, not this phone. Long story short: I was due to get my own line anyway and now I'm on T-Mobile where the phone works great.I love that the phone comes with a simple case. These "Off-brand" phones often don't have cases available, so one coming with the phone is great. As it turns out, there's a nice case also available which I got (Product code B07T6CYDZ2 ), so cases are available for the A5 which is a huge plus.Performance-wise, it's fine. I don't do anything heavy on my phone, generally just texting and internet browsing, and it does that just fine. I have noticed that occasionally it will get weird and not load things, like YouTube videos or Twitter images. This happens on both mobile data and on wifi, but is immediately fixed if I turn the wifi/mobile data off and back on. Is it the phone, or the network? I honestly have no idea, so I'm not marking this phone down for it.I love the battery life. It outstrips the Pixel 2 I had previously (Which had all of its sensors stop working completely, that was annoying), and that's with playing music through bluetooth all day at work. The camera seems to be pretty good, although I haven't taken a large variety of pictures with it.Now, for things I don't like. Much of these are personal opinions so keep that in mind.First up, the screen. It's a nice screen! However, the top corners are curved, and are curved enough that the first digit of the time, and the percentage mark for the battery power, is sometimes cut off a little. This is most obvious when the top bar is white, like when using Chrome, and it usually looks fine when it's darker.Additionally for the screen, the camera notch in the top center annoys me. With that taking up some space in the middle, and the simple fact that there's a large number of icons that are always there, I almost never see most of the notification icons on the top bar.I also dislike the size of the phone. I like to keep my phone in my front pants pocket, but this phone, especially with the case I got, is just too large for that. Does it fit in my back pocket? Sure, but it's really uncomfortable to sit on.In all, quite a good phone - Pretty much everything I dislike about it is subjective, or I don't use it for things where it wouldn't perform as well. I would definitely recommend it, so long as you're not on a CDMA network.

Good for the price. Works with Ting.
Quality phone for the price range with a few cons that are acceptable given the price. As others have said the camera is so-so (typical of phones where outside is fine, but indoor lighting poses challenges). The bokeh is just sort of an effect. Can't ditch my DSLR with aperture lens yet, apparently. The ear speaker is pretty weak (I use speakerphone anyway, but that is nearly necessary now). The speaker on the bottom is definitely a step down from my last phone (moto G4), but again I use an external speaker for podcast/music listening usually anyway as none of these phone speakers can come remotely close to a real speaker (go into advanced sound settings and disable 'BesLoundness' to help bring some low and mid range back to the speaker). My biggest complaint is that it does have lag when opening some apps, usually 2 or 3 seconds which is probably the biggest annoyance as it's actually a bit slower than my moto G4 from 3 years ago that only has 2gigs RAM. Opening gmail takes 5-6 seconds for some reason. I think it has the hardware to be faster (8 cores, 4gigs RAM), so this is probably a software issue. Hopefully updates over time will quicken the opening of apps. The display is clear and bright (definitely tun on nightlight feature to reduce blue light at night). The fingerprint reader works 100% as long as my finger is put on correctly (program both index fingers so you can use either hand). The glass feels great to the touch. Take off the plastic screen protector and enjoy (unless you are rough with phones, I suppose). I find it odd the included protective case is not transparent, especially for the breathing crystal model that I also purchased for my wife (I ordered the space grey). I have some clear cases coming from another vendor. The battery is adequate. If you stream lots of youtube and keep the screen at 100% like I do, it definitely drains before days end (so did the moto G4). For casual use, it should easily last the whole day.Overall, I am pretty impressed for the price. I will consider UMIDIGI's higher end phones in the future. I wonder what this brand could do in the $400 range?Anyway, I appreciate value-minded brands like this. People spending a grand or more on big name phones are caught up in branding and image nonsense that I simply can't relate to (It's inevitable these things get outdated and/or break in a few years, so why spend that kind of money? Apple couldn't even charge what they do if people didn't line up like sheep and hand it over, but I digress).

Not fully impressed
Had hoped for this model phone being I have the A1 pro which works well except for a few software glitch. While this is a good phone it failed constantly in the software trying to setup the APN, the update only caused more problems for apps not loading that used to work okay before. Touch sensitivity has improved, camera is not good as the older model and tethering doesn't work properly. Says it is connected but no internet 🤔.Yeah I am returning it, don't want to be stuck with another crappy phone. You can take a chance with it, maybe mine was just defective.
