The lights are replacements forbulbs that have been in my home for sevn years; the time I purchased my home. I hope these new bulbs will have equal to or close to the longetiy of the ones that were replaced.

Disappointed: Hums So Loud
This is the only bulb I could find with the same specs as the burned out bulb that I removed. I don't understand Lumens, or if a bulb is going to be too powerful, so I bought a replacement with the same specs. This one is SO LOUD. Annoyingly obvious every time you turn the light on. It reminds me of those long tubed florescent lightbulb sounds. Not sure what kind of LED replacement light I will buy when the next one burns out. Certainly not this one.

Highly recommended
We had over 600 standard R30 flood lights (incandescents) in one of our buildings. About a third of these are on 24/7, and the rest are only off for 6-10 hrs a day in off-peak energy bill hours. In other words, they were costing us a lot of money. So I started looking into finding a CFL (compact fluorescent) I could replace them with. I went through a number of different companies, getting samples from each: Satco, Prolume, Litetronics, TCP, and a few names I don't recall. I tested them out in the spaces and each of these had some odd light characteristics. They were either cooler than 2700K (regular bulb's color "temperature", or gave off a greenish light, or made one's skin look a sort of death-grey. Each was obviously off the mark. Finally I got these GE 80893 bulbs and installed six of them. The light quality (known as "CRI", or color rendering index) was markedly better. Whereas all the others failed, this one was a clear winner. These were front-of-house spaces and the lights needed to look good. They did. My test bulbs have lasted a year so far (I dropped the project and picked it back up again recently) and they are all still burning (were on 24/7 for a year) and looking good. You can hardly tell them apart from the incandescents. So I just bought 24 boxes of them and got them installed. All worked perfectly bar one, which they'll replace. If you're really picky, one thing to know is that the light, as typical of CFLs of this type, shines a wider beam than an incandescent. In our case they are in the ceilings of hallways, and they do a nice job of lighting up the walls and wall art. They also stick out a tad more than a regular bulb, which is generally not an issue, but some fixtures were very shallow so the bulbs stick out a bit more than they did in some cases. The net effect is that they look brighter, and I've gotten nothing but complements on how bright the place is now. Hardly anyone even realized they were low-energy fluorescents. They just thought they were new, brighter bulbs. As a note, CFLs tend to dim out about 25% pretty rapidly, and so these come brighter at first and then settle down to their advertised brightness. So they will seem brighter for the first several weeks of usage than regular incandescent bulbs.Re other review: It's true that they take a minute or two to come up to full brightness (I didn't notice it being longer than that), but this wasn't an issue for us as these lights remain on all the time for the most part. This is pretty typical of CFLs, though I believe you can find other ones that are instant-on if that's important for your application.I definitely recommend these CFLs. They are the best of any I've tried in light quality (CRI), and that seems to be the hardest thing to get right. I also got them at a great volume-discount price, which they even honored a year later. They are saving me around $36/year per bulb, and that adds up fast.If you are looking for this type of bulb, I definitely recommend this brand and model.

Burnt out in a week
Bought to replace flickering LED light. Warm up time was extremely long, 20-30 minutes. Once warm, brightness matched the LED bulbs.Reason for one star, bulb burnt out within 2 weeks.
