Really fun to put together
The media could not be loaded. Wood trick makes amazing models. Trick is in the name for a reason; take your time and enjoy the process of building. Not something to rush through. Great time together assembling with my son!!

fun to build
built for display and fun during down time! Kind of easy to assemble, compared to some other models I have assembled....I have done about 15 different models to date......Problem trying to assemble drive bands.....Assembly instructions vague in this area...Several trials and errors. Painted the riding cars different colors with highlighting accents. "SHARP" RON

Amazing That All Twelve Gears Do Their Thing!
Total assembled height is 13.5 inches. Wheel revolves about 25% of total circumference. WIth more use, it goes the full revolution -- slowly. Under-powered. Uses three 2-inch diameter rubber bands that stretch to 9 inches for its power. Loses "umph" when rubber bands ares at 6 inches of stretch. Afraid to wind up too tight lest rubber bands or thin string (pulling the Wheel) break. Once the base is closed, it would be difficult to replace broken rubber bands.Have assembled Wood Trick's Locomotive, Big Rig Truck and Forklift in past. Ferris Wheel is the most difficult to assemble correctly, but it is also the most satisfying once the puzzle is solved. An engineering marvel that the wooden clock mechanism (with a clutch) works as well as it does. Devoted about four hours per day to puzzle; spent much time reading and re-reading assembly instructions to comprehend how the gears worked. Also did many trial tests of gear-turning to discover which surfaces needed additional sanding to avoid being bound up. Needed one week to complete task. For me, the most-difficult part was getting the pieces ready for assembly. Requires much careful attention to sanding down and waxing surfaces to make everything turn without binding. Once the entire gear tower was built, string belt was threaded through the spools and rubber-band motor proved to work with the clutch, I was happy. Putting together the eight little swinging seats on the actual Wheel was almost anticlimactic (as they involved much "toothpick work"), but I was curious to see whether the little rubber band would rotate the 10-inch Wheel. It does, but not very much. I had a drill press to even out holes and the experience of doing other puzzles. This is not a good "starter" puzzle for anyone. Third parties will admire the Ferris Wheel without comprehending the remarkable work that went into making it turn with just a few rubber bands. This toy is not for children. The finished result is irresistible to them, but you must keep finished puzzle away from youngster's hands as the wood is not as sturdy as they are. It is pretty. It rotates a little. The gear system (with clutch) is really fun to assemble. The journey is more fulfilling than the destination.

Beautiful and fun, too pricey.
Magnificent product. I read all reviews before ordering. It's very beautiful. I think it's great. However, a week after arrival, I started getting ads for same product, other brands, with better features for HALF the price. I don't make a lot of money so this kinda bummed me out. I will be adding future pieces to our collection from those brands at less than half what I paid for this one. Same dimensions. Same complexity but additional features like solar power and plays music.

Used lots of wax and sanding and be patient.
The media could not be loaded. I love the way this turned out but it was really a challenge to get the gears to stay in place when added the addition ones. I had to glue the tabs holding gears in place or they popped out. Had to glue the arches to the base because they kept popping out. I made sure each gear was working unobstructed. Sometimes something was in the way. In the end I got it to work and I did paint the pieces as I went along. The Ferris wheel part was easy. The last gear on top I did wrong but I redid it an now it works.

Confusing instructions—broke within first 1/2 hour of building
Taking the pieces out of each sheet is difficult and often results in wood chips coming off the sheet and/or off the piece being removed. I followed the first few steps without a problem. Then, I was to “force” a rod with gears on it between two pieces of wood already assembled. Long story short, one of the gears shattered, rendering the whole thing useless. It is now in the trash—a clear waste of my money.

Beatiful model.
The assemblying of this model was hard, but the final model looks amazing. We need to rebuild it a few times because the clockwork didn't worked. But after waxing everything clearly and assebmled it, the clockwork works. The gears just needs some time to run clearly, I have experience with it. Amazing model, Wood Trick as always at the top!

Be very careful as the pieces break easily.
More details should be included with the instruction booklet.Things like waxing the toothpicks for easier insertion. Making sure to grip the pieces as to help you not break them. I took my time with it and still broke 3 pieces. The mechanical part is in my opinion is a no go. The gears are too rough and do not operate smoothly. Because of this the rubber band does not have much power. Smoother system needs to be developed. It is nice to look at when finished and dispute the things I mentioned here,I did enjoy putting it together. Thank You
