Ok.
Like others mentioned, I agree that this is below level. I originally purchased level 4 for a 4th grader but it looked way too easy so I returned it for level 5. Level 5 is still a bit easy compared to the other curriculum we use, which is much more in-depth. My student is advancing faster in the other curriculum too but has a short attention span so the next level of our favorite curriculum may be too much. That's why I got this one (for backup?).These lessons are definitely shorter, ranging from 1-2 pages upon initial flip through. You can view samples of the first week or so on the master books website. In my opinion, the lessons remind me a lot of the summer workbooks for kids, short and to the point. I do like the extras in the back of this curriculum, especially the games for further learning. If I decide to keep this but not use every lesson, I may just use it as supplementary material. This book does practice paragraph writing with a hamburger visual, which for us will be very beneficial to add into other curriculum if we do stick with that one mainly. I don't think there's enough writing practice in this book, even for non-reluctant writers. The shorter lessons are good for a student who has a hard time focusing on longer lessons. We used another program that took 45-60 minutes 4 days a week. This one will take max 15-30 minutes depending on the day's work. But, my biggest concern with this curriculum is if there is enough repetition for the topics to really stick. Short lessons, although good for focus, aren't always effective for retaining the information. Adding in the games will be crucial for us.I like how the pages are easy to tear out so kids don't have to lug around the entire year's worth of material, and they are also 3 hole punched. This is so helpful. I also like the check list in the front of the book for each lesson. Also note, there is a Bible Stories book integrated with Day 4s of this curriculum. I prefer to assign my own reading/literature and won't be using this so I can't give a review on that aspect of this curriculum.

Love it but...
I love the way it presents learning, the kids love it, but it's very very easy for a level five. Like my 10yo complained bc it's too easy for him so I have to find something else. Now, we did come from a very difficult program and he's ahead... So it's appropriate for my younger kids

Easy to use, teacher friendly curriculum
We love Master Books! I like the one page a day concept so we can take time to focus on what needs improvement or double up on lessons if we are needing to take a day off.

Below grade level
Love the idea. This book is far behind what 5th graders should be learning. This seemed more of a 3rd or 4th grade level. I do have the 2nd book for my 1st grader and it is an okay fit. Not sure if I will purchase the 3rd level for him or not

Great books!
I just bought 3 books of this series for 3 of my kids, and they absolutely LOVE them! When I assign their school work for the week, they always ask if they can do more in this book than they're supposed to!

Excellent Curriculum
The only thing I disliked was that sometimes the pages were hard to tear out if needed.
