If you want something that look good and does the job this is it. It muffles a lot of the sound but allows you to hear enough to maybe do some last minute practicing without people noticing if you are about to perform. I play the trumpet at church and this really is good.

So, what I like about the Trumpet mute is that it fits snug in the front bell, and that it really does cut the volume in half. It is made from a cheap feeling metal, but overall I love the product. I can practice indoors without making people angry. I am sure that your family members, or even neighbors if you play outdoors will appreciate the the noise turned down. You will notice that it requires more air, and pressure to produce notes. I think this is a wonderful product for practicing so other won't hear you, and it's great for building chops. This is not to be used for a straight mute substitute, or a particular mute for jazz. This mute is just so you can practice quieter.

Really really helpful for practicing and it really reduces the sound of the trumpet. Good for indoor practice. Works like any other.
