I purchased this gimbal to use with my Osmo Action (the original type, not the modular one) and although it fits in the holder there is no additional functionality available from the gimbal controls. This isn't a huge problem as the Osmo has voice commands but it would be a benefit to be able to use the controls on the gimbal itself. Also it isn't possible to use the short power lead which go's from the action camera to the gimbal, the Osmo uses USB C but the kit only comes with micro USB plugs and finally the most frustrating problem of them all. When the Osmo is mounted the rear most part of the bracket that the camera sits in takes up up 25% of the real estate on the Osmo touch screen making it very difficult to swipe through various settings, playback etc.For the price and quality its a good buy, but, if you want to use all of the features only put a GoPro in it. I think HoHem need more clarification in the listings for this item so that buyers are aware that the gimbal is only really fit for GoPro devices.

Handy and perfect

This is the first gimbal I have used for video so have nothing else to compare it to. But the videos I took were noticeably smoother than without. Battery life outlasted my GoPro but that’s not difficult! Well worth it for the money. Just bear in mind that it can only be used with the GoPro out of its case, so it needs to be taken care of. I used it in the snow and just made sure I didn’t drop it!

The media could not be loaded.  I love the way it comes with cable to plug my GoPro directly into the back of the gimbal, it doesn't charge the camera but it powers it for me through out the day doing video in London. I now can leave my batteries and charger at home and not worry about running out of power.I did some running and fast walking down the stairs etc which is really demanding of any gimbal and the iSteady did a great job at stabilizing the footage. Mounting the camera is simple with 2 small threaded screws to adjust tension of the clamp. I wish the screw heads are bigger as it is really difficult to tighten or undo the screws.The app add another cool feature which I tested out, it does motion lap by taking the gimbal position as key frames. You set the time duration and it will move through the keyframe one by one until the end. I would live to have more control over the time laps speed between keyframe which is not available.I have so much fun with it which drives me to do even more outdoor work from now on

For this updated review, it's a NO from me after using this gimbal for a month. It just acts too weird and ruins my footage all the time. I gave it to my kid.For the newer GoPro cameras, all I need is a mini tripod or a Shorty stick. The Hohem was an expensive mistake.My Amazon-ordered iSteadyPro 3 Gimbal arrived in a good package and it's obviously brand new.Do not turn on this gimbal without a camera attached because it will shake and buzz, and may damage the motor.An AKASO V50 Pro - 2.4 x 1.6 x 1.2″ (60 x 41 x 32mm) - fits on to this gimbal, as will action cameras of similar dimensions.But you won't be able to control some cameras with this gimbal.

Really great tool for action cam’s I use a DJI osmo action and it works great, good results for smooth footage. I’ve also found the use of the mobile app on iPhone useful to get motion time lapse. Great product. Would recommend.

One issue I am experiencing is that it swictjes itself off even when I am taking video and it has happened few times now. The result is such that video becomes unusable as it goes to power off position.

Excellent alternative to the better known makes. Works just as good and half the price. Very pleased.
