Trade MXMexican Traditional Jalisco Dress Vestido Tipico Mexicano Women Size (Women M, Black)

This is a HUGE Jalisco dress. Detailed and heavy! I would say true to size. I ordered a size up incase it was too small around the bust but didn't need to.

Perfect for a last minute performance. My only criticism is wanting the skirt part to be another layer or two added in order to create a fuller flare when dancing in it. The Jalisco dresses I wore when in a Mexican Folklorico dance group were a little bit more fuller, but for the availability in a short time, the dress is perfect, lightweight, and comfortable!Updated review. Still a beautiful dress. In height I'm 5'2. The dress when holding up exposed my ankles and material was way light weight, that when I tried flaring the dress it was hard to control. I ended adding a whole new layer to it. Definitely helped, because it gave the dress the weight it needed to create beautiful flares, and gave me better confidence as a dancer in it.

I purchased the medium size and it was too big for me (150 lbs size 6) I returned it for the small. The small fit perfect. I have a small upper chest and waist and big hips so the small one was the right fit for me. If you are big chested or have a belly Medium is probably the best choice.

Full disclosure: I am NOT a professional traditional Mexican dancer. With that being said. This dress was PERFECT. I got a lot of compliments and it worked perfect for the dance I did. It did the swirling and it looked beautiful when I turned. I read a few reviews that made me nervous about the dance, but let me tell you if you are not looking for something super super professional this is your dress. By the pictures I posted you can see how long is it. I don't know about how long it should be or if it should have certain things so I can't help with that. All I can say it looked super traditional, good quality, and millions of compliments. It is thin but thank God for that because with long sleeves and your neck covered, you want it as thin as you can possibly get it. It does not look cheap and it's true to it's size, maybe a tad bigger but nothing the back ribbon can't fix. I think price is good if you compare it to traditional mexican dresses. Hope this helps!

I bought this dress for my daughter quinciañera surprise dance, can use a better zipper, but otherwise nice dress, really lightweight.
