Well designed skipping rope
I like this, it feels high quality: metal handles, smooth bearings, nice feeling cord. Weighs 425g, of which about 190g is in the handles, so a reasonably heavy cord. The good thing about this is that flies a bit slower than the speed rope I had before and the weight means it keeps a better rhythm and gives more feedback to your hands to keep track of its position. As a result, I went from being able to do only about 30 skips with the old one before messing up, to easily doing over a minute on about my 5th attempt. Don't suppose it'll be easy to use for double unders etc due to the weight, but for all the people who just want to learn to skip for basic cardio it's great.I chose the cotton cord, don't know if it will suffer with use, but it does come fitted with a short rubber sleeve that protects the middle of it from the ground/feet.Length-wise it was fine for me without shortening. I'm just under 6'2, if you're taller this might not be long enough for you.

This Is A Really Good Rope!
So far, I'm enjoying using this rope. I didn't actually realise is was 1lb in weight! I thought it was 1/2lb! My error for not reading the blurb properly. I certainly get a workout with these - even if I'm jumping for only 20 minutes, with breaks in between for exercises. I'm using the Crossrope app and the exercises are sometimes quite challenging. As a relatively new jump roper (for exercise purposes), it nearly killed me the first week I used it 😣😂. I had to pace myself and take rest days so my body could mend. Now I'm more used to it, it's great - especially when I'm using it in conjunction with a lighter rope for cardio/speed. I'm still learning.I had to cut it (which is really easy to do, by the way), as I'm just under average height, and what I discovered was that it's solid PVC all the way through, so when I'm skipping on my patio, I don't feel it's going to wear down to the wire any time soon.I'm happy I bought it. It's lovely to use and I'd definitely recommend it if you want a really good workout and want toned arms.

Great full body workout, great on concrete
As mentioned in other comments if you are coming from a lighter rope it is much heavier. Saying that it will only take a few seconds to get used to. After a week of skipping on concrete I'm noticing it is much more durable than the plastic covered wire ropes. Slight scuffing but thick enough to take it. Handles have grips in the centre so will not slip. Also the extra weight in the rope (not handles) means your arms get a work out too. After 15 minutes with this rope my arms felt like they had a good woek out. I'm 6'2 ans needed to cut about 5 or 6 inches from the rope. Easy to prefix the connector inside with the two screws provided, you just need a bit of force and a screw driver. Very good rope and unlike speed ropes, you will feel this in your shoulders and arms too. Great full body work out and brilliant for those of us that train at home with no lovely indoor padded gym space!

Best rope I've tried so far which makes it 1/13 so far.
Good heavy rope, great for double unders and general rope trickery. Great length too. I'm 6' 7" and often struggle to find long enough ropes but this one was probably too long by default if I'm honest, so 100% recommend for tall people.Price was a bit higher than I might have liked but the construction and material quality seem good so far (bearing in mind that this is only one day in).All in all I'd say if, like me, you don't want to shell out for a cross rope or some other such massively overpriced rope this is easily the best alternative I've found so far. Oh and it's really easy to adjust and doesn't require you to cut anything which is a bonus since that means you can share it if need be which would probably be good for smaller gyms or martial arts classes.

Almost perfect
Bought this one as a second rope as previously gotten one that was a crossfit speed rope which isn't a great choice for beginners. This is a bit more weighty and already have increased time skipping and feeling more confident. The only downside are the metal handle, while they do have a good grip surface on then any sweat on your hands will make them feel very slippy in a short time. Fixed this by applying some racquet tape to them and now really are perfect.I also put a small amount of duct tape around the centre of the rope to protect it when using it outside on hard surfaces as noticed a few nicks on the rope after the first few sessions.Overall this is an ideal rope to getting into skipping for fitness, the length is easily adjusted, the weight is beneficial and also available in a lighter weight I believe.

That January get fit buzz
I absolutely love how easy it is to adjust the length, there is a special mechanism within the handles that just screw open.I wanted to give myself an extra challenge. I've been skipping now for about 3 months and was ready to take it to the next level.I'm assuming the weight will help tone my arms a bit more. It's definitely more difficult to skip with, hopefully I get better with time.Well presented in a really nice pouch for carrying it to the gym/boxing club in.The boys up there are already trying to swipe it. So I know it's good.I told them go to amazon, get your own one.

Felt like a quality rope at first
Looks like a quality weighted rope at first but has some major flaws. The fabric on the rope frays very badly when you cut to resize and there is no way to trim it as it just keeps coming loose and is made worse when you use the rope. The resizing is done by cutting then using the supplied plastic clips to hold the excess rope in the handle. The issue with this is that the weight is in the rope and not the handles which means as you skip over time the plastic holding the rope in the handles is pulled on by the weight in the rope and it starts to become loose and starts slipping out. I think you should get some screws with the plastic clips to hold them in place, which I didn't receive, but it all seems a bit tacky. Finally on the rope I had on one of the sides where the rope spins it started to burn and turn black due to the friction caused by the spinning rope rubbing against the metal, this is surely a hazard. In the end I had to return the rope.
