This material may be flame retardant but it is not burn proof, which is what I was looking for.

fireproof curtains
Used this fabric to make curtains for the open arches on a covered balcony. It was tough to find someone who take on the task but I finally did. While I wouldn't want these curtains in my living room they work well on the balcony compared to a coated polyester because I live in a fire prone area of southern California. Polyester drips when it burn, this fabric only chars. When a direct flame is taken away it goes out. If I have to get out in a hurry, I don't want to worry that the curtains will be the reason my house burns down.Product arrived on time and in perfect condition.
