Just What I Wanted
Works great for a lamp that I use to turn on in the early morning and in the evening. It is nice because it automatically shuts the lamp off when it becomes light in the morning and I am able to set it to turn off at bedtime.Downside: It was a bit confusing to program.

The timer is a little tricky to get programmed at first as some other reviewers mention but if you follow the directions and really focus on it- you'll get it and it works great! The vacation setting is great and made me feel like my house was much more protected while out of town.

Fantastic timer; set it once and forget it!
What a great timer! Set it and forget it; it changes time as the time of sunset and sunrise changes. I already had to replace one of the two I have, but to be fair, its indoor rated, and I use them outdoors, in a covered box, to turn on and off my low-voltage lighting. Been in use almost 4 years now, and works great.

Work well, not user friendly, some crapped out on me
Bought several of these for my house so I don't have to worry about turning lights on and off and coming home to a dark house. I had 5 of these in my house and 2 of them became defective after 2 years. The defective ones wouldn't turn the light on or off but would like me set the timer etc. I confirmed there was nothing wrong with the light.

Big plus to have it track Sunset/Sunrise times
It's what I have been looking for in a timer for years, especially this time of year when sunset time changes quickly and you come home to a dark house. So far it has been tracking the sunset time as fall approaches (but I offset it by 1/2 hour because on cloudy days you need the light). Will see how it does next spring. One "major" gripe is that the manual override is not a simple as it should be. It has 3 positions so if I need a light ON early and leave it in the ON position, the light stays ON all night. You have to remember to move it back to AUTO but that brings up the second design problem, the icon on the display is so tiny and these are usually plugged into wall outlets 14" above the floor, many times behind a chair or something to it nearly impossible to see if you did indeed move it back to AUTO. I have to pull it out of the wall to look at it, lucky it doesn't lose the time or programming. I had an old reliable Intermatic digital timer that had a large ON/OFF button and it would always stay in auto program mode but turning it ON would bring it on early and likewise if you wanted to turn something OFF early that worked and the next day it went back to normal ON/OFF mode. I hope Product Managers are reading this and can make operation much simpler.

Very hard to program
You need an advanced degree to program this timer. After several months of use, the times "flipped" so that now the light turns on when I want it off and turns off when I want it on. I ordered an old-fashioned mechanical light timer to replace this one.

Smart sunset timer puts lamps on auto-pilot
Works as advertised! These have been great for auto-adjusting a few of the lamps we like to have on at night from sunset until bedtime. It makes things easy as they have been set and forget it after the initial programming. I didn't find the programming to be very challenging, just a few steps to identify where in the world you are so it can track the sun for you and then set the timer for on at sunset and off at 11PM. If I needed this function for more lights, I'd buy them again.

No longer need to worry once in bed if the lights are turned off!
For years I would have to pull out the sofa and adjust the lamp timer every spring and fall. Summer sunset for us can be 9pm, while winter sunset can be closer to 4pm. We've had our first SunSmart Timer for over a year and I love it the ease of it so much that I purchased two more.I have lamps with LED bulbs in our family room with this timer and it's so nice to walk into an already lit room, and I don't have to wonder at midnight if anyone remembered to turn off the lights!
