XMRE (Meals Ready to Eat) 2019 Pack Date - 2024 Best By Date - Single Menu (Pepperoni Pizza)

I received the ordered item very quickly so i have nothing negative to say in that regard. I have been watching a gentlemen on YouTube call Steve1989. His channel is dedicated to only Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) products. I have recently decided to start taste testing a few different items to see how much i enjoyed them. I also live in Florida and like to keep a hurricane food and water on-hand for the hurricane season.Chili With Beans and the Chicken Burrito Bowl have been favorite to date. These two items were the actual Military DoD variant. I have now ordered a few other non DoD brands to see if like those with regard to taste, contents, sides, etc.I decided to try the XMRE unit that contains the "fabled" shelf stable pizza. Here are my opionions of what i experienced eating this XMRE Pepperoni Pizza slice meal.Flameless Meal Heater (Heating Element): The XMRE Heating element actually performed better than the DoD MRE Flameless Ration Heater units i had tried. It took a minute to get going but when it did start, it REALLY got the slice of Pepperoni hot.Pepperoni Slice: I had no expectations going in on how a Shelf Stable slice of Pizza would taste. It tasted pretty mediocre at best. The actual taste of the pizza i would rate between 2-3 stars. It is edible but you not want this very often.Crackers: The crackers unbroken and tasted just like a normal cracker.Peanut Butter: The Peanut Butter was extremely runny. I even spent a few minutes mixing and squeezing the contents before opening the package and applying t his to the cracker.Ranch Chick Peas: I actually let my Wife and Daughters eat these and they had nothing negative to say.Pop-Tart: The dessert was a Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop-Tart. It is what it is. This was a pretty cheap dessert when there are so many good shelf stable deserts out there. I know that other distributor include these as well.Beverage: The Orange flavored drink was included and definitely not my favorite. It wasn't bad, just average is all.In summary, i will most likely not purchase more of the Pizza MRE's but they definitely would provide some level hunger prevention in an emergency situation. I would definitely recommend the Chili or Chicken Burrito Bowl over this one.

I finally tried one of my vintage 2015 XMREs that was 5 years old and sitting in the trunk of my car for almost 4 years. I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole thing was in great shape and tasted delicious. The Southwest Style Beef tasted similar to Stagg chili, but the quality of the beef was much better than what you find in Stagg chili. There was more food in the XMRE than I normally eat for a meal, so had trouble finishing all of it. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but decided to try to coffee anyway. I could tell the coffee wasn't great, but if you're desperate for coffee or a hot drink, it would probably do the trick.

I've been waiting to try the Pizza MRE ever since I heard about it. My son used his birthday money to buy one, and he let me try some of it. The sides were pretty good, the beans especially so. He was disappointed it didn't include a cracker, but such is life.He loved the pizza and ate all of it except for a single bite which he gave to me. It looks gross, the cheese is all stained from the sauce, and all you taste is.... it's hard to describe. Imagine a floor cleaner with a pepperoni scent. That's what it tastes like to me. Everything else in the MRE was as you'd expect, and good quality.

Great for hiking or emergencies! I tried the chicken and it was great, the entree was well seasoned and tender chicken chunks. The sides were filling and descent portions, so much so I had an more of the snack left, that I stuck in my pocket (peanuts). I will suggest having and means of mixing the beverage as it doesn’t come with a beverage bag and a pocket knife as some of the pouches don’t have tear cuts in them. You will need approximately a bottle and a half to two bottles of water in order to complete the meal.

I had this back in March, but I don't think the pizza was that great. It didn't taste like anything on a normal pizza. Everything else was fine, but the pizza was meh.

If you buy this product because you think eating MREs with your kids is fun well you've already played yourself and you should be ashamed. This is survival food marketed specifically for the U.S. Military and it tasted damn good. Can't imagine ever complaining about eating pizza especially if I'm in the military, which I am btw. Will definitely be buying this again multiple times in the future.

Didn’t get a cracker or bread with my cheese spread ,no accessory packet, and they gave unmilitary Utensils.

I really liked this MRE. Came fast and everything was in great condition. The snacks it came with were delicious. I loved the pizza and I'm a vegetarian lol. Can see us trying the MRE om our channel V & B tv (Veteran and the Blonde).

So what I have to say is this is a older style of this kind of mre, it has a browning problem but was still ok with its taste. Don’t expect a lot.

I've heard horror stories about these, but to my amazement this wasnt too bad. The heater took a little finessing to get going, but I'd definitely take one or two of these on a day hike for sure.

My husband loves watching you tube videos of people unboxing these. So I bought him one. He loved it. Warmed up well and flavorful.

Great gift for grandkids! They were surprised that the pizza flavor was so good! All the extras were a plus!

This remind me of those old days when I was in Guantanamo Bay eating MRE 23 yrs ago.

Not bad for shelf stable food, but it still has that disgusting taste.
