Finish scratches off easily - I recommend using with a side-load plastic bottle cage
I just got my travel kuppe today, and excitedly tried it out on my bottle cage (an aluminum lumintrail). It fits perfectly.Unfortunately, the dark gray finish on the bottle also began scratching off immediately upon contacting the bottle cage during insertion and removal. The texture hides this (somewhat) from a cosmetic perspective, but the scratched areas also feel like sandpaper so I don't see the texture as a plus. This is very disappointing performance from an item that was literally designed for this specific purpose. My hydro flask has lots of chips in its powder coat, mostly at the bottom edges, but it has earned them over the years, and they also don't feel rough like this.Other details:The travel kuppe's straw lid feels identical to the wide mouth straw lid on my well loved 18oz hydro flask (they are pictured together here). Heavy duty, easy to drink from, water-tight when closed, same hand position, same opening/closing mechanism. And indeed, the lids are interchangeable! This is great because there are loads of generic hydro flask straw lids available if you end up needing a replacement lid. (Mine on my hydro flask tends to get chewed up over time, I seem to replace it once a year or so.)In conclusion, I love the concept for this bottle, and the foundation is well executed (size, shape, function) but the coating/finish is poor. There aren't any other competitors in this niche, so I may try a different bottle cage first (maybe plastic?) and see if that preserves the finish better.UPDATE: I did switch to a side-loading plastic bottle cage. It hasn't scratched the finish at all in the months I've been using it. It also made it much easier to load and unload this tall bottle while riding. I added a star to my review because this combination works really well!

Great solution, thumbs up! Cold drinks and no "plastic" taste
I bought 2 of these to replace my Polar insulated bottles. I just gave them the ultimate test: a 450 mile bike tour. I hoped to avoid the 2 big issues with staying hydrated over long riding days: plastic taste and room temperature liquids. These bottles were a success. No off-taste and cold drinks helped me keep drinking all ride long. I initially used ice in both bottles and the ice lasted for over 5 hours through multiple refills. Great. But the ice sloshing sound was too annoying during long, slow climbs. So I just filled the bottles with cold Gatorade in the morning and kept the second bottle in reserve until late in the ride when I really needed a cold refreshing drink.I found the best technique for handling the bottle was to reach down and flip up the straw lid, grab the finger ring, lift and drink. The ring was a secure way to handle the bottle.Pros:Holds same volume as Polar bottleKept drinks (or ice) cold for hoursFinger ring was easy to holdNo plastic tasteWell madeCons:Heavier than Polar bottlesNoisy in my aluminum bottle holders...loud thunk over bumpsI hope to experiment with ice shapes (maybe popsicle molds?) that I can use to avoid the ice sloshing noise. I'll also be using these in my golf bag for cold drinks this summer.

Great bicycle bottle for my coffee
Wanted an insulated bottle for coffee that was designed for a bicycle water bottle cage. Commute to work by bike and was tired of using plastic water bottles or sports bottles that rattled in my w/b cage and/or had lids that leaked. This bottle works great and serves my needs wonderfully. Comes with two lids and I saw issues mentioned. I ordered bottle and got it right away April 2, 2019. When testing straw I could get nearly all water out of the bottle. There seemed to be some concerns on straw length and it performed great when I tested it.I typically use the other lid without the straw and the lock is TIGHT so no leaking, for some it could feel maybe hard to unlock, although I like how firm it locks. Seal on both lids are great. The bottle is metal!!! Which means there is no damn flex. I commute on an old beater mountain bike with one extremely beefy alloy w/b cage and a recycled carbon w/b cage (see photos and video). In my alloy style cage it is a REALLY tight fit because the bottle has zero flex, and it scratches the bottle. Be warned if you have a heavy duty alloy cage you will probably want to swap it out. It slides in and out fine with my carbon cage, and I had some other old lightweight alloy cages I tested it on and the bottle worked fine with them.It keeps my coffee plenty warm over my hours in the morning and it is very nicely made. Wasn’t cheap but I am happy with it and would get one again if I needed a replacement.
