The Montessori Method Kindle Edition

This Method of Teaching is quite frankly one of the best constructed and most intentional yet simplistic methods of education a child. From sensorial to language to mathematics, each concept builds upon the previous concept allowing the child to move through mastery of these tasks as they are developmentally able and naturally interested. This method is a must read for educators and parents alike.

Author brings up some excellent points to consider in educating young children. Thanks to this book, the best part is that I have begun just sitting back and observing my 13 month old child more. Children are truly amazing when we let them be. I show her how something should be done, and let her do the rest. I now step in only when she begins to mistreat an object, or to prevent her from injuring herself. She enjoys the freedom of exploring. I am grateful for Montessori's work.

I found this to be a fascinating book. Dr. Montessori was a profound thinker and had ideas about children that are vastly different from what you see today. Montessori believed in giving a child responsibility and then holding him accountable. I found that a refreshing change from a lot of what I have read in the child-rearing literature these days.

Dr. Montessori was a genius and she actually created the method out of pain of losing her son to adoption at age 17. It's too bad that Montessori is now for the upper class when it was meant primarily for the poor. I would love all nursery schools and primary schools to be Montessori.

It reads a little like a textbook. The writer is a little redundant and puts some information in the book that isn't required. But it does have some very useful ideas that I know I will use in the classroom.

Unsure about Montessori? Get this book. See the genius. She is an inspiration. I believe that she has within this book the techniques to revolutionize the pathetic school system in America. I really don't understand why we aren't seeing more of her influence apart from the private sector.

I have always been a fan of Maria Montessori's methodology, and believe that it is by far the most commonsense approach to educating (and parenting) children. A must read if you are considering incorporating Montessori methods in your home or your children's education.

After so many years, this book remains still fresh and gives interessant educational ideas to parents and teachers. Only the chapter of the nutritional recommendations was a bit odd for nowadays' paradigm.

Bought as part of a Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma, this book has really helped me with a particular unit focusing on Childhood theorists.
