Mibro492470 Cobalt Metal Master Drill Bit Set, 1/6in. to 3/8in., 17 Pieces

These drill bits were a great buy. Needed something to drill into an old backhoe to mount lights. The backhoe was clearly built heavy and solid. Had no issue at all cutting through the steel to mount lights.Also, nice case for the bits; very sturdy and good size.Can't say anything negative about this product; very nice.

These drill bits are my go to drill bits. They do break but not readily and they drill throw the toughest materials. I only replace them with the same percent cobalt that the Mibro's have. they are excellent tools.

I love the case-well designed, good protection, easy to read sizes. I used these to drill though stainless steel. They work 100x better in a drill press than by a hand drill. They cut a hole no problem, Clean and fast

I searched and read many reviews, went with this product. Went to use them within a week of receiving bits. 1st bit broke within 20 seconds. They are sharp but too hard (brittle) Drilling through 1/8 sheet metal, was being very careful so bit wouldn't flex/ get stressed. Not the cheapest set of bits I've ever bought, just really had higher expectations....

So far, no issues. Seem sharp and have performed well with no breaks so far. Plus it has some larger bits my previous set didn't have.

The drill bits arrived on time but these bits are very brittle and seem to break more easily than good quality steel bits.

The bits snap in half easily, but I have heard that this is a characteristic of cobalt drill bits…I probably should have purchased "high speed steel" bits which are less likely to snap. From what I understand high speed steel bits dull faster (not as hard a metal as cobalt), but if drill speed is kept low and oil is applied, perhaps the tips can be kept sharp. And probably investing in a Drill Doctor would keep a set of high speed steel bits going longer and be less of a nuisance than constantly replacing broken cobalt bits...

I bought these bits after trying (unsuccessfully) to drill through a stainless steel door with "regular" steel drill bits. Imagine my annoyance when the drill I was using just ground down the bit tip and dulled it to uselessness.So then I bought these bits. I was very happy to see these bits chew right through the steel door in a way my other bits failed to do.If you need to drill through steel, these are the bits to use.Recommended!
