Good quality works great

Why spend over $150 to replace a floor lamp when I can spend less than $10 and replace the switch? Perfect replacement and works again great.

I used this switch to turn on a luminaire and or neon lamp. I found the install to be very easy, and the wires are pre-stripped and and pretty long. Fun fact, first turn activate the red wire, second turn activates the blue wire, third turn activates both, and the fourth is off. The feel is a little light, not much heft to it. I was a little afraid it would break with normal use, to be honest. But it is holding up well - I use it daily since 23ʳᵈ of October.Should anything change, I will update this review.

Ordered this because it looked visually identical to the switch it had to replace, even including the color coding of the 3 electrical cables. Needed it for a pretty old brass gooseneck table lamp. This went in easily exactly where the original had been, although without the lockdown nut, which did not seem to be needed. Wiring was easy, and it fit fine. Very satisfying to bring that lamp back to life!Minus one star, because the switch positions feel "soft" and it sometimes feels like you have to turn through an extra detent just to get to the next setting. The button does not sit firmly like the original but that one was very old so who knows.In use a couple of months now, if we get a year or two out of it that would be better than nothing as it kept this useful lamp alive with little effort.

Not sure what the reviewers are thinking when they say this switch is too difficult to actuate. I replaced the switch in our old 3-way floor lamp (disassembling the lamp to access the switch required a PhD in home repair!) because my wife's arthritic fingers couldn't turn the old one, but she operates the new one with ease. The color coding on the switch leads didn't match that on the old switch, but this turned out not to be a problem, because the switch was labeled "1, 2, and L" at the points adjacent to the leads, just like the old switch, so it was easy to match the leads.

This was THE ONLY switch identical to my needs on Amazon. Radio shack had nothing also. Nobody fixes stuff anymore? Installed easy, my spider lamp is 30 yrs old, granddaughter twisted knob off. I just used this knob yesteady and it felt stripped. Either she still can't figure out how to twist this the right way, without forcing it the wrong way first still? Or it is, as flimsy as it felt installing. Either way, still cheaper than buying another lamp, have plugged it into a wall switch and told her to leave it alone. But I may still order another switch for later, if there was a better quality available I would get it, or even a different brand. But I feel lucky to find this, without travelling an hour to some dying country hardware in tinbuctu.

It replaced an identical switch that I installed 10 years ago for my range hood lights (2). The only negative is the plastic instead of metal sleeve for the attaching nut. It broke on the old one, and will likely do so on this eventually.

A perfect switch to repair a vintage lamp. The lamp had upper and lower lights and this switch was perfect for this application.
