I have 2 fairly large fountains in my backyard. I use this product to keep the water clear. If used in the right proportion to the number of gallons of the fountains, the water does stay clear, otherwise, if use too much of the product, the water gets yellowish and foamy. I like the fact that the product is safe for birds and wildlife.

These pellets do a splendid job of keeping algae out of our small koi pond: Recommended!

Didn't really work on my pond. Most of it ended up in the skimmer :(

I do not recommend these barley pellets. I put them in the mesh bag and followed instructions for pond placement. Some powder material leaked out of the mesh bag into my pond since the first day, the water was very dirty and cloudy. After about one week, the powder material still leaks and the water is even cloudy around the mesh bag area, and propagates to other adjacent areas. Recently, I noticed that the goldfish in the pond lost their appetite, and three fish died. Not quite sure it is related to the usage of the barley pellets. It is doubtful that the fish may have eaten the leaked barley powder and cause the death. Anyway, it is just my doubt. No evidence. Just took out the mesh bag immediately when I realized the fish death may be caused by the leaked barley powder.Personally, I do not think that this is the right thing the product should do. I may have to try out other Barley straw products instead. Thanks

Have ducks in the spring and they bring in all kinds of lake stuff. This and a probiotic keeps everything at proper levels.

Accomplished all that it promised! The pond looks clean&rocks are polished and clean

I learned a long time ago what a difference barley pellets can make in my koi ponds. I use a combination of the pellets, bacteria, and pond salt to keep my ponds clear and free of algae.I recently built a new 8500 gallon pond, and because of the extended warm weather, algae began to grow. I ordered fresh pellets, and with the combination mentioned above, Within days the water is clear again. I can now see all the way to the 4 ft floor of the pond. And of course, my beautiful fish!
