Very well written and interesting.

I loved reading this book!I originally purchased the book because it was recommended to me by a friend. Since I had met Elfi, and Mutti (I used to go to their church) I thought I would be supportive. Reading it gave me a whole new perspective on the events that occurred. I liked the way that other bits of history were included to help tie the events into the timeline of events going on in the story.

Omg, this is a story I wasn't even aware of in my own family, lol. I am so thankful for my grandparents to bring my mom and her brothers to America after althea went through in Germany under Hitler. God and his angels really had their hands over my family. A great read for anybody especially those who were immigrants from any country in the world. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful story. War is hard, and transitioning to a new world is hard. Funny how history repeats itself, maybe if more people would read "Watching Over Me" they would be a little more concerned about how war far away can have an effect felt around the world, for years.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a simple read, but the descriptions of the experiences of Elfie were thorough, bright and kept me interested throughout. Elfie helped me become engrossed in her world and her that of her family. I would recommend this for readers who are young as well - entirely appropriate.

I may be biased, because this is about my family, but it was an incredible story of faith and survival. I heard this story hundreds of times growing up as a child, from my Grandmother. To read it in a book was quite amazing. Thank you so much Aunt Elfi for sharing your story.

An engaging look into the extremely frightening and difficult lives of WWII survivors ... a stoic and resilient group of people.

A great book. Well written to keep you interested at all times. It describes the horrible tragedies of war, not only for the solders but the public as well. How this book described their faith and how it gave them the strength to survive such hardships was a testament to their religion. Enjoyed this book so much I purchased more for my family. Big thumbs up. Thank you for sharing your life.
