Mortal Kombat X - Xbox One

I've waited a while to upgrade from the PS3 to the newer systems, and when I chose to upgrade, I went with the Xbox One S 2TB. I felt it is the best buy for the dollar, and now that I'm finally hitting these games, it's wonderful that prices for these games has fallen.This game exceeded my expectations. Negative feedback from hardcore MK fans made me hesitate to jump in line for MK X. However, I'm glad I went ahead and bought it. I played the original arcade versions and the 32bit Sega console games and loved the fighting action, and of course the FATALITIES!I have never been one to buy every new iteration of a series, so it has been quite a while since I played any version of Mortal Kombat. This version does not disappoint.GRAPHICS 10/10: The graphics are awesome. MK X is a next-gen game, at least graphically. Even little things, like enhancements to the animations of Raiden's lightning and Subzero's ice, is noticeably better. The arenas are really great. I also like the interactive environments in certain maps.FIGHTING 10/10: What more can I say? This is a Mortal Kombat game. The fighting has been impeccable since the beginning. I have no complaints about it. The characters are responsive, no glitches. As usual, the combo attacks and special moves are cool as hell. There's really nothing to add.STORY/ACTING 9/10: This game takes place in the future (Johnny Cage has grey hair). It's interesting to pick up at this point in the characters lives. The storyline is as good as can be expected. In typical Mortal Kombat fashion, you sort of need some prior experience with Mortal Kombat to understand everything. But most players will get the gist.My general assessment of this game is this: if you want a fighting game, you won't find one better. A couple characters are missing (Goro and Baraka, mainly), but this didn't upset me much. I'm satisfied with the selection as it stands. If you're a casual MK player, I think you'll be very happy with your purchase.

I am a HUGE fan of Mortal Kombat, and when this game, MK X was announced, I was hyped. I was concerned, due to the story that there will be more new characters. There wasn't. 8 new characters and the rest being originals, so I was happy. So the story is this (not to give out spoils), it's 2 years later past in the original MK 9 story line when Shinnok begins to attack earthrealm with Quan Chi, and Earthream was weak due to the recent attack from Outworld. Overall, Raiden seals Shinnok in his own amulet, and 25 years later, a civil war breaks out in Outworld and it all has to do with the amulet Shinnok is trapped in. So its MK 4 and eventually a new story after that. So. Pros.Pros:Amazing GraphicsCharacter Variations (which gives different attacks/combos to each character. Each character gets 3 variations)Brutal FatalitiesGreat gameplay (Easier than MK 9 when it comes to combos and such)Great storyMultiplayerCons:Lack of challengesMultiplayer can be laggy depending on what you're doing or how many people are thereSo. If you are a HUGE fan of MK, this blows MK 2011 out of the park gameplay wise. But I do wish there was more stuff to do. There's not as much challenges compare to the last game and Multiplayer is much better compare to the last game. It's not as laggy but depending on the person who plays (which could have walmart connection) or if you're doing a "King of The Hill" gameplay, it can lag due to the many people on there. But other than that, I do recommend Mortal Kombat X.

Although you may at first be deceived by the gore and horror intensified cinematics of the game, you will come to realise the strategy and pure fun if you get a copy in your hands. Mortal Kombat X has an addicting campaign, staying true to the old characters of past Mortal Kombat titles. The gorey X-Rays and signature Fatalities are boosted with amazing detail and sound due to the console upgrades. You may think boredom will get the best of you whilst playing this game but I can say first hand this isn't true. With over 75 different combos for each fighter and including skins and Brutalities, the game will keep you at an edge whilst playing the multiplayer as you race against friends or people from around the world to perfect and find your favourite character (Fera-Torr for the win!!). Although the main story lacks in some parts it is made up for from the sheer fun of beat you friends in the competitive and fantastic game. 9/10

Fun game! I played the ooooooollllllldddd versions of Mortal Kombat on Super Nintendo so these graphics are many steps up in comparison (though I still own and have a soft spot for my Super Nintendo console and MK game). The kombos and fatalities are SO graphic but a lot of fun to figure out and exciting to see. I play with my boyfriend and we'll be in the middle of kombat when one of us will go to the Start menu to view our player's moves so we know how best to beat each other (this feature is a helpful refresher as there are many kombos and such to memorize). Happy with this purchase and the update! There are great characters to choose from with a range of abilities and specialties, along with arenas to choose from.
