New formula is awful!
Please go back to the old formula! This new formula is sticky and tacky and impossible to get out of the tube when there is a quarter still left. It is not nearly as fresh tasting either. I will not purchase again.

Warning: they changed the ingredients. The new version is terrible
This used to be my favorite toothpaste, but recently the company changed the ingredients. "Now with Xylitol!", like some bad 1960s ad campaign. The new version is excessively sweet, and I personally don't want Xylitol.

Not Impressed...
I have been using the old version of this toothpaste for several years. Expensive yes, but it lasted a long time because you didn't need as much. Very thick and dense. This new formula has Xylitol and I personally am not a fan of that. Plus the tube wasn't really even full......and for that price I won't be ordering again. It's too bad because they had a good thing and now have changed that. I wrote a note to the company and the response was that they have no intention, at this time, of bringing back the old version. Their loss.........

Worse than the original
I am not sure why they have to make an excellent product worse by making unnecessary/unwanted changes:1. The toothpaste feels really loose -- one would need to apply more of the new toothpaste for a single use.2. The tube is now made out of plastic (instead of metal), and with the liquid-like toothpaste inside it is hard to get it out once the content runs low.

New Product Not Better
The new formula is weak. It doesn't taste as good or as strong or as fresh. Please go back to the old formula. I loved it before :(

A Problem for sensitive teeth
I've ordered from the Dental Herb Company before and was very happy with the toothpaste product.I recently ordered this NEW Essentials toothpaste as an alternative product because the original wasn't offered or available. My gums and teeth became very sensitive and painful after a week or so of usage. I ended up throwing it out.I believe it's because of the addition of Xylitol to the formula. Would NOT order it again.

From miraculous to mediocre...so disappointing!
Why did you change from a formula that brought miraculous tooth and gum health to a mediocre substitute.I have been giving your NEW Essentials a long-term tryout, hoping that with time, I would experience some adjustmentto your substitute. Unfortunately, I had great, but misplaced, confidence in your company. I was happy to pay the premiumfor my dental health. You have disappointed me. You have disappointed my dentist. In his waiting room, we patients speculateabout why your formerly excellent company is not responsive to it’s customers.

New formula makes my teeth and gums ache
So disappointing. I'd been using Dental Herb's previous formula tooth and gums paste for about a year with amazing results -- to the point where my gum recession had actually reversed. But after two weeks of using the new formula, my teeth and gums are constantly aching. I compared the old and new ingredients list, and it looks like they removed green tea, added xylitol and perhaps changed the ratios of some of their other original ingredients (like there seems to be a lot less kaolin now, so my teeth don't get the same tarter removal/shiny smooth polish that they did before). I can only conclude that xylitol must be the main cause of my aching teeth and gums. What a shame to see this common chemical additive in a natural toothpaste. I'll try the tonic for now, but they've definitely lost a toothpaste customer with this change.
