Works great for the price. I would pay more for an adjustable viewing angle and night vision which this camera lacks.
The camera profile is great and installed under the trim of my Chevy Sonic it looks factory. However, the viewing angle is not adjustable, so when i mounted it flush on the trim, i get a great shot of the curb, but not anyone walking behind the car. So its perfect for parallel parking, but not backing out at the grocery store. This is more of an integration issue, not a ding to the product itself, however, its going to be difficult to find a shim like washer to adjust the angle. The horizontal viewing angle is just fine for my small car. If you want to see someone coming around from the side, turn your head....The mounting nut, i agree, it does not have much material to grab to your mounting surface. A washer or a thicker nut would be great, or do what i did, and carefully drill your hole with a stepped drill bit and only go as large as is needed to fit the base in. I added some clear silicone to the base to help with water protection and adhesion. No problems thus far and i just went through a ferocious automatic wash last week. The Power and Ground wires are very thin... This is actually my biggest gripe. Why the heck are the wires like 500 gauge..oh yea its probably from china and I only spent 15 bucks or so.....That being said, I wired nutted them just fine to the 20/22 gauge wire I used to route from my tail lamp. Electrical tapped them together, no issues thus far.The length of the Video cable was just long enough to route through my hatch back, across the floor board, tucked under the passenger trim, and up through the auxiliary glove box to connect to my auxiliary video port in my Chevy Sonic.Picture quality. Not that bad, not great, but you spent less than $20 bucks.... No its not the 4k that you just got done watching on your $2500 television... but I can read license plates. However, night vision is terrible... I will say that...If you need to see behind you at night, you may need very bright outside lighting or look elsewhere. All in all , for the price, its great. Check your viewing angle before you button everything up, and make sure you don't drill too large of a hole, and you should be set.Yes this has red/yellow/green lines.

Misleading Product Description. Do not mount vertically, image will be upside down.
"Fit into most vehicle key holes, no other installation needed."I just wasted time modifying the tailgate latch and installing this camera only to learn that it is meant to be installed horizontally, not vertically. I should have tested it before installation so that is my fault, but the product description suggests it is good to place in key holes. I have never seen a horizontally mounted keyhole for a trunk. This is a very misleading product description. I would have never purchased this product had I known what it really is. I installed it vertically as I would in any keyhole and it does not work as intended. The only way this product can be installed is if it is hanging down, otherwise the image will be wrong, or if you have a head unit which can flip the image, you'll still have lines on the image which are wrong.Edit: So I saw that others had popped the camera opened to flip the module. Not sure if this makes it so that I cannot return the product but whatever. I carefully removed the module and managed to flip it and reinstall it with the help of some sugru. Now it no longer displays color. I suppose it is good enough for me but I am very disappointed that I had to open a waterproof case to modify the device. Hopefully the silicone sugru keeps it sealed well enough.

Gives a good picture BUT...
I bought this with the intention of putting it up high and looking down at the trailer hitch area. It is designed to be mounted down at the bumper looking more or less in an upward direction. Therefore, if you want to use it as a hitch camera, your picture will be upside down necessitating you to turn the view screen upside down. and of course, the guide lines (which are a completely worthless feature anyway) will be up in space! LOL There seems to be no way to dispense with the lines. Once I drilled the 7/8ths hole it was easy to install. Caution: Remember you gotta get your hand into the back side of whatever panel you drill into in order to install the retainer nut. Drill in the wrong place and you are scr...! Other than that, it is great!

Keep Looking
Ok for the price, but doesn't put out enough signal in low-light situations. I hooked it up to a wireless transmitter/receiver system and thought I was getting interference because the picture was distorted and flickered terribly. The next day in bright sunlight it was stable and strong (although in bright sunlight the picture is quite washed out, overly bright) It can only be the camera. I'm trying to find a better quality camera that mounts the same way since I already drilled a hole in my car. Long story short, it's an alright camera in perfect conditions, but if you're going to the trouble to install a system in your car, spend a little more for a camera that suits the bill. Can't expect much for $18.Update: Camera completely quit after about 2 weeks. Garbage.

my stereo offers a brighness setting for the camera so the night vision works fine for my car
It points down, I can see a very limited view behind my car, my stereo offers a brighness setting for the camera so the night vision works fine for my car, the lines in the camera are for appearance and would be better without them, it looks very factory and blend in well and the hole saw works perfect. The wires all work fine. I installed it the correct way, under the trunk but you should make the profile picture facing in the proper mounting position while still showing the camera to not appear misleading.

Only mountable upside down!!!!
This is the second camera of this type that I have purchased, installed and the image is inverted. There is not a. Way to rotate the camera with disassembly and I don't know if it would ruin it being waterproof then. I am most upset now because this was the only other camera of this type that installed on the same size hole. So if I replace with another I am concerned with leakage into my vehicle. If this camera is only mountable one direction, it should state this!!!!
