Excellent!
I live in Florida so our garage gets ridiculously hot- we can’t store bottled water or extras of anything because of the heat. I bought this to help, I figure even a few degrees would be worth it! Being a single woman, I wasn’t up to the task of removing the hurricane braces although it’s recommended to do so for ease of installation and if you’d like to cover the entire door instead of just each individual panel as I did. I was okay with doing the individual cuts though and didn’t even need to use the provided tape since the door has a little lip/edge (see pic with my hand in it) to tuck in the extra and keep it secure to the door. I’m extremely happy with the look, ease of installation, and especially impressed with the company! The kit came well packaged with a razor, a huge roll of double sided tape, and directions (in English) and detailed contact info for the owner of the company in case you have questions or problems! I didn’t need to contact them, but it was sooo nice to know I could and that the owner cares enough to want happy customers (pretty rare find nowadays!) I took pictures of the temperature readings of an installed section and pulled away a section of insulation to read the temperature without it- it’s almost 5 degrees cooler 🤩 ! So yes, I definitely recommend the insulation kit and especially recommend purchasing from Mike/US Energy!!

Works great! Insulates well
Works great. Not easy to install if you want it to last on the door. Adhesive is not that great but if you pull everything off the panels of the door and use the hinges and brace bars to hold it on it works great and stays put.

Much warmer in winter
Product is fairly easy to install and has made some improvement to my garage area temperature during the winter. I decided to insulate my aluminum door after temps dropped down into the tens and my garage was about 35 degrees. We had a warming period which gave me time to scrub the door and get it really clean. When ordering read the description closely, they offer the same product in different formats and sizes. My 8x16 door has five panels. A four panel could also be the same size. You need one roll per panel. The double sided tape is a little iffy for installation during the winter. Temps need to be about 70 for tape to grasp the aluminum panels even if they are clean or dirt and grease. Customer service is really helpful via email or calling. Also a good time to inspect and or replace bottom seal.

This actually works to insulate the garage door
I used this kit to insulate my aluminum two car garage door. Measured temps at the skin of the door was 44 degrees F when I started working. After installation measured temperatures at the door was 63 degrees F. Outside temperature stayed at 43 degrees throughout the day.My install took longer then usual because I took the time to take off the hardware and run the insulation in one continuous piece across the door. There are no breaks from left to right and there is an airgap between my garage door and the insulation. I used the tape to seal the insulation on and reinstalled the hardware over top. I can no longer feel and cold air when standing next to the garage door. It made a noticeable improvement in temperature. There was also plenty of tape left after the install. I left the hardware at the bottom of the garage door corners alone and just trimmed the insulation around those two sections because I didn't want to mess with that. If the cables were to get off track I wouldn't know how to readjust.I'm very pleased with the temperature difference as well as the aesthetics! I'm actually excited to see what the temperature difference is in the summer. I'll also be picking up a space heater for the garage. With the door insulated it maybe comfortable enough in dead of winter to work on projects in the garage.

Easy to understand
This product was absolutely worth it. Installation alone was simple and I am not exactly the DIY type of person. I have a more prestigious skill that enables me to break things with little to no effort, yet, I was able to successfully unbolt several of the pieces of my garage door to lay the material on top to give it a cleaner and more professional look. It actually helped more because the “natural air gap” many websites refer to is made naturally by the frame of the door itself. Re-bolting the struts back into place also helped ensure that it’s not just tape that is holding the panels secure to the door. In one day i have notice a measurable difference. Great customer service which is something not often found. Thanks Mike.

Insulates But Not As Well As I Hoped
The finished product looks good. You can feel the difference. I’m insulating because the garage door faces the sun and is hot to the touch and radiates heat. The garage door and insulation heat up after a couple hours and starts radiating heat though. The reflective surface is non metallic and is not delicate like foil as one would believe by looking at it. The insulation acts as a sound deadener. The garage door is steel and has sixteen (16) individual panels. It was necessary to measure and cut a piece of insulation for each panel. It was also necessary to measure cut and apply the double sided tape to each panel. The backing paper had to be removed exposing the adhesive for a half hour to get the adhesive to “tack up”. Then the insulation can be applied. Very tricky placing the insulation correctly in place. This is a very time consuming process.I’m a slow worker and the project took two eight hour days. The insulation material is not as thick as the Amazon Ad image looks. However it is very light and the garage opener did not need to be adjusted..The garage door project was satisfying and i’m glad I did it but I don’t feel comfortable recommending this product to other buyers.

Visible heat savings!
If you take your time you can end up with a professional looking install. I used the trimmed sections of foam foil to wedge the main sections against the door because the tape didn’t stick well to the foil. I think by doing this it finished off the look. The infrared picture is of my garage door from the outside. The darker panels had insulation and showed over 10degrees of temperature difference!
