This is a great step up from those unstable wire stands.
I play trumpet in a community band and our venue never has enough stands. I've had those portable wire stands but those weren't going to cut it. They're too small for folders, they're extremely unstable, and they have no place to attach a light. I decided to give this stand a try and I'm very happy with it. This solves all of the problems I've had with the wire stands. It also has two flexible arms that you can bend over your music to keep the wind from knocking it over. I trust this stand to hold my large folder, pens, LED clip on light, mute/accessory holder, and more. With the included carrying bag, the whole setup breaks down very well, very quickly, and carries conveniently. One of the best music related purchases I've made in a while. The only negative is that the stand I received was slightly lopsided and I had to bend some metal parts to make it completely level. Awesome buy for the price.

Cheap bag, decent stand
Fairly easy to assemble, but no instructions provided. Not that hard to include a sheet showing how to slide this thing together... Something like that is a no-brainer for any manufacturer that's providing an unassembled item; minus 1 star. The end of a of the "spring arms" is bent and the other isn't. Whether that's standard or not, I'm not sure, but the picture shows both ends bent. I actually prefer the straight one, but these things seem very difficult to bend, so I've got assume it's a manufacturing issue. Carry bag arrived torn, so not a quality product; minus 1 star.Stand seems sturdy enough so far... I've had the stand for about a week or so. I put an old Behringer Eurorack UBB1002 on it the other day and it felt a little wobbly in a "horizontal" setup, but it didn't fall and the mixer stayed put. In the traditional setup for music, it does quite well, but the above comments about the spring arms remain an issue--I wish they were both straight!

Good purchase and good quality for the price.
Exactly what I expected. Purchased for my son who is in the school orchestra -- our last stand, a more inexpensive model did not withstand the travel and broker really quickly. I like the easy fold and the case it came with for travel. I agree with another reviewer about the typical "factory" plastic smell for the travel case, but two days in the backyard and the smell is completely gone -- not sure there is anyway to avoid that smell when something has been packed in plastic for a long time. The stand itself is sturdy enough to hold several music books and holds up to the not so gentle handling of a teenager. Good purchase.

just what i have been looking for!!!
this music stand is PERFECT and just what i have been looking for! it easily assembles/disassembles (literally just two pieces), is made of sturdy material, and i love the portability of this stand! the bags that it comes in are also well made and the larger of the bag is big enough to fit in a music book and other accessories. i only just received this item earlier this week, so i can't verify the longevity of this product, but it appears to be made well enough, and is an investment that should last me for several years to come! i also haven't had a chance to try using it while playing outside (it's been too cold), but i look forward to trying that out once the weather is nicer in the spring.tl;dr - if you're looking for a well made portable music stand, then this is the one for you!!! :)

Seems like a good design so far
We bought this for my daughter, for her birthday. Seems like a good design so far. Haven't had it long or needed to transport it yet. I like the idea that it collapses and can be put in a bag. One of the springs on the music holder was stretched out such that it didn't touch the music stand. We had to try to bend it into place. The opposite holder works great. Also, a piece of black plastic appeared under the stand one day. Looks as if it could have broken off the stand, but still not sure. The last issue is that my daughter doesn't like the holes on the music rack because the light shines through them and makes it difficult to see the notes on sheet music where the holes are. If it weren't for the shipping costs and effort needed, I'd send it back and get one without holes and with a better spring on the holder.

Sturdy
Works well, is easy to position. Much sturdier than wire stands.

It works well
My sister broke her smaller fordable/portable stand and I bought this as a replacement. The stand has done well for several weeks now and she carries it around fairly often. I haven't noticed any damage on it in this time and the carrying case is a nice plus. The page arms are also nice. The plastic parts do look finicky and extra care has been taken to not to over-torque them and so far they have all held well.

Tall, Sturdy, and Light
Easy to set-up. It holds my sheet music while I am standing and playing a guitar. The stand is plenty tall enough. I am almost 6 feet tall and didn't need to extend the stand the whole way. I put my music in a three ring binder in plastic sheets... opened the binder and put it on the stand with plenty of room. Folds up and the top comes off easily when you're finished. Nothing bad to say about this music stand. Good product and a fair price.
