Perfect replacement!
Got my old AC up and running again. The AC is over 15 years old and admittedly on its last legs. Then it stopped working and I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the compressor. A little online research suggested that it could be the condensor. It is easily accessible and simple to replace by reattaching the existing wires to the same places as the old one. Voila! AC running fine again!PS: It did not immediately start right up upon returning power, but then kicked in in a few moments. Has something to do with the condensor recharging, etc. But AC works fine now.

Liked the product save me lots of dollars on air conditioning repair
I was able to match the exact model number of this item to my existing air conditioning unit ordered replaced. It has been working for several years with no issue whatsoever. Highly recommend this product.

Shut off both the disconnect and house mains.
Came home from work last night - house was 82 degrees. Initially thought it was the thermostat, traced problem to external compressor. Compressor was running, fan was not. Could manually start fan up using a stick to start it spinning counterclockwise. Determined that the capacitor was bad. Visual inspection revealed castor oil leaking from rusted top of motor start capacitor. Needed item is not in stock at big box stores, any Grainger in Houston. Amazon had next day delivery. Item arrived this afternoon. Brand New, in good condition but no wiring instructions. The top has three connectors: HERM, FAN, C (for common). Some googling indicated that HERM is for the compressor wire, FAN is for the fan and C is for both legs of the 240 V power in. On a 1.5 ton residential Goodman: HERM connected to the brown wire, FAN was the yellow wire, and C were the red and purple wires. This may be different for your AC unit, so doublecheck before connecting things incorrectly. Also, the reason these are not sold to the general public is that you can electrocute yourself very easily. Above or near your AC unit, there will be a disconnect box with disconnect switch in it . Make sure that this switch is disengaged before touching the capacitor. Also make sure that your power is shut down at the circuit breaker box in your house. Apparently people bypass the disconnect switch for whatever reason and if you don't shut down the mains at the circuit breaker, you could still have power going into the capacitor and electrocute yourself and die right there. I also shorted the connectors on the old capacitor to make sure it was discharged prior to handling it. I used a screwdriver with a well insulated handle. Once I verified that the capacitor was discharged, removing, replacing, rewiring (pushing the lugs back on the connector tabs of the new capacitor) took all of 10 minutes. I fired it back up and it works now. 15 minutes of work saved me a probably expensive repair call. Thank you.

Easy to replace
Works great! I saved myself over $100 by not calling an ac tech. My ac was running but the fan outside was not. I found out the capacitor needed to be replaced because the old one had a puffy top. It was quick and easy to replace. I surprised myself!!
