Marine: Terran Scout Fleet, Book 1

I cant believe that was 255 pages?! Or i should say "only" 255 pages. It has a great tightly written story line that develops the characters and promotes the story. No fluff sections. I enjoyed it very much; good use of tension and commoradory in story and between characters. Havent read Omega so maybe i gotta circle back to that.

Now this is one heck of a rollicking start to a new series ! Interesting characters, interesting story line and definitely interesting world building . Well worth buying into this series !

A little jumbled at first, then it came together to be a good story with a nice plot.Now for the next read.

The book starts off a little rough around the edges and is certainly no literary masterpiece, but if you aren’t hype-sensitive to its USA-centric approach, it is a fun ride with decent characters and a fun story.This is space opera without too much hard sci-fi (which I actually like when well done, but I enjoy a good space opera too) and a main character who is good.I wish his “super power” was a little more super, but it is a decent addition and while there are some flaws with his irrational anger towards his father (I can’t explain that without spoilers) it is a solid four star sci-fi read. I’m looking forward to book 2 of the series.

Nice start to the series. Had enough action throughout to keep my interest. Already downloaded number two. Let's see where we head next.

Another 3 star dnf. I feel like maybe this has good bones but it’s just not handled very well. It was all very cliche without the good stuff. Young officer with no experience blah blah. It all just rang a little contrived for me.

It is a terrific read for any fan of this genre. Glad that he has more in this series . You won't put it down.

Josh puts together a fine story with some unexpected twists and links. Well worth the read.

Excelente história.

I'm a great fan of this great writer for all concerning the black fleet cycle, but I simply can't much appreciate the omega force cycle (to which this book is related), which in comparison is in my personal opinion a little too much hollow, swashbuckling and stereotyped. A pity, since this writer can and does write some awesome stuff.

I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed all the other books from Mr. Dalzelle. It has in my opinion an interesting plot, (for me) sufficient depth to the main characters, quite a few twists and turns in the story, and is written in a way which makes it easy to read and keeps it compelling throughout the book.
