Fresh Step Clean Paws Simply Unscented Clumping Cat Litter, Recommended by Vets - 34.2 Pounds (Package May Vary)

I have three cats, two boxes with one of them in my bedroom, and I'm not very good at keeping on top of chores. So it's vital for me to be able to miss a day or two of cleaning the catbox without the cats and me suffering for it. And I don't appreciate it at all when my cats jump in my lap smelling like air freshener [or cat pee]. This is the only litter I've found that accomplishes all this, and I've tried a LOT of them. It offends me to use someone's guest bathroom where they keep their litterbox [so they don't smell it, but their guests have to]. Before FreshStep, I cut a cat door into the basement and put the litterbox down where I couldn't smell it. Now one of my boxes is in my downstairs bathroom, but since they can't see or SMELL it, they don't know it's there. The other is in my bedroom. I realize that it would be better if it weren't clay, but I've tried all the ecologically sound ones, and they don't satisfy. Believe me...it's well worth checking out.

This has been the best litter for our house. I have tried many different types and brands.This litter has much bigger more solid pieces, which means it tracks a lot less than other litters. I may have a little right outside the box, but it is not all over the floor. I have two cats. One older female, and a young male.This litter is heavy and makes really big heavy clumps. Not an issue for me. Especially since it comes divided into 4 bags. I use the first two bags for two weeks, then dump and use the second two bags. So I’m only buying this once a month. I scoop usually everyday, but sometimes every other day. Have no issues with odor. I use a large inclosed litter box with the flap door, and two bags is plenty to fill it up.Just wanted to share my experience, in case someone is hunting for the right litter.

I find this is the best almost totally dustless cat litter. The clumping ability is as good as possible, in my opinion. This greatly helps with cat box cleaning, leaving almost no small bits to fetch out with edge of scoop. I have found that this cat litter almost totally eliminates litter trails from dropping off cat feet. I do keep a very small rug like door entrance mat in front of litter box. Now if it could stop my female cat from going just barely into, and sometimes over the edge of the box, I'd give it 100 stars. It is not the litter itself, she has done this with every type I have tried. She is, however, an expert at going with three feet on edge of box and one in. Then she jumps in totally to totally cover up.

Fresh step is awesome. I’ve tried all sorts of brands and found this fresh step to be by far the best one; as it’s the only one that nearly annihilates all of the odor, and the best balance of all the features of litter (less tracking, less dust, good clumping).Some are amazing at clumping but dusty as hell; some are awesome at being not dusty but clumps like ass; some are great at many things but smell like compete ass and you start to associate that brand’s smell with cat piss and poop.. etc etc.I found fresh step to be pretty good at everything (not the best); but since my priority is odor, it’s by far, the best one in getting rid of the stench.

Low Tracking, Convenient Lighter Portions.I like that this litter is truly low tracking! And even better, the USPS carries it up my 44 steps where I can open the package & carry the 8.5 lb individual bags. This is really convenient as even trying to carry 14 lbs of litter upstairs is a hardship. Even though the litter is unscented, my friends say it doesn't seem like I have a litterbox in my house, even if I don't clean it for several days. The clumps are hard & easy to scoop. I had to change from what was my fave litter for over 10 yrs because they changed the formula & the clumps easily fell apart. I also have a subscription for it to be automatically delivered every other month - convenient & saves a little $!

The “clean paws” just means larger litter granules. The cats still track it all over, so mission not accomplished. Like the package option of cardboard flat with smaller, easy to handle bags. However this is more plastic in the end, so I have gone back to the heavy cardboard carton because I can lift it. This option might be good for people who can’t lift much, although they would still need to get the flat flat beside their house.

I like this litter! I’ve used it before, so when I seen it came in this big 4pk I had to get it. It really tracks way less. It’s nice not having litter everywhere. I wanted to buy another pack but it said there was none available. Update: I gave it 4 stars because I’m not sure if it’s really FreshStep (no paw points code) but it works really good. So much as I’ll still buy it again.

I love the fact that the packaging makes the product more manageable. The individual bags are so much easier to handle and extremely easy to open. I didn’t even need scissors. I will say, however, I haven’t noticed any real difference in the amount of tracking. I feel like there’s no such thing as a low tracking litter, as I have tried them all! It all sticks to their feet until they run through the house a few times!

With two cats of which one with long hair including between the toes, I always had the trailing litter issues. This litter completely stops the problem. Also, it's very strong clumping so no more clumps breaking and leaving crumbles of poo in the litter. I especially love the packaging with smaller pouches that you can just take out one at a time when needed, and wish that packaging would be more consistently available. The 37 lbs box is a bit harder to handle, but I still have to get it whenever the smaller pouches packaging is available only from price-gougers

I absolutely love the packaging of this litter. I add a new bag every week and it’s perfect. (You can also get their scented clumping litter in this packaging.) It does drastically reduce tracked litter because this mix has a lot of traditional clay litter mixed in. However, this is also where the annoyance comes in, because of the clay litter the clumping is terrible. You get these giant, wet clumps of pee you have to fight out of the litter box. You’ll definitely need a metal scoop. However, I should mention I'm a terrible cat mom and don't scoop daily, if you do you may not have issues with giant clumps of pee!I keep using it because it does cut way back on tracked litter and my cat is allergic to scented litter. You can see the difference in my attached photos of this litter versus their traditional unscented clumping litter.

This litter is so much better than the others I've tried. My cat doesn't have it all over her feet when she comes to bed. The other brands I used, my bed would feel like I was sleeping on a beach. It was terrible. Now I still find a piece now and then but not half a box of sand like before. Her feet even smells like febreze.

This was a nightmare. A definite work out to break free the clumping litter from the litter box. The plastic scooper kept folding in half as I tried to peel the hard packed clay out of the box. Then I purchased a litter robot and this litter kept half the contents stuck to the bottom of the bin when it turns completely upside down! Odor control is good, great really. I didn't notice any less tracking than other litter products. I've had great luck with OTHER Fresh Step products that don't say Low Tracking. I'm happy with the Fresh Step Odor Shield Scented Litter with Febreze. I had no idea the clumping would behave so differently.

It’s a trade off ... it’s low tracking, but has larger grains than our usual litter (scoop away). The Scoop Away is more “dusty”, with small particles, that are more easily tracked. The trade-off means that this litter doesn’t clump or work quite as well, probably because of lower surface area.

This litter is the best I have found and I'm not new at raising cats. For once I don't have to constantly clean up litter tracks! Fresh step will be my go-to litter from now on!

Keep coming back to this product after buying others. It is bigger pieces, but less dust and controls smell a little better. It does still get tracked outside the liter box, but easy enough to sweep up.
