Assembly required, but certainly worth the trouble
I ordered this for my office, and love the look. I got it because I thought it would compliment two (real) antique oak pieces, and it did. It is engineered wood, but with a very unique, weathered look. It is quite attractive.Assembly took several hours- and somewhat longer than I anticipated. All you need, according to the instructions, is a phillips head and flat head screwdriver. You are advised not to use a powered driver. Patience is a virtue. The connecting hardware is in a blister pack with part numbers and a count for each part in each blister printed in the covering plastic. My advice: take out the blister pack and carefully inventory each blister for the correct number of parts. I didn't, and discovered during assembly that one blister had only 4 screws of a particular type, when it should have had 12. I tried to substitute another screw and stupidly pierced the the opposite side of the wood because the screw was just a little long. I had to make a trip to Home Depot to search for the proper replacement hardware and it added about an hour to the assembly time. Otherwise, all the other required hardware was present and in the proper count.I am so pleased with the look of this piece, I am considering a matching desk. I have read other reviews complaining of damaged components. The shipping box is so well engineered, It is very difficult to see how a piece could be damaged in shipment without it being obvious from the outside. All the edges and corners of the carton are covered with a glued-on cardboard to strengthen the container and protect the parts inside, which are protected by cut styrofoam. There was not a single nick or blemish on any part in my package. The instructions are well written, and I had only a couple of hiccups along the way, mostly because I got tired and impatient. Take your time, and you will be rewarded with a nice looking piece of furniture.

Nice sturdy cabinet
Easy to assemble. Very sturdy and nice color for my space. The size was perfect for the area we needed to furnish.

Great product with one minor complaint and an assembly snag
I've been a Sauder customer for over 20 years. I have many pieces of their RTA furniture around my house, and they are my go-to choice when I need some piece of furniture and don't want to spend and arm and a leg, but also want something that looks nice when assembled and that will last. This entryway storage is great. Rock solid like all Sauder units, and the assembly instructions were very clear as always. It looks really good in our living room, but here is where the "minor complaint" of my headline comes in -- The color does not at all match the "glamour shot" photos of the product. The color is called "Vintage Oak" and shows as a warm brown color in all the showcase photos. That was exactly what we were looking for, as all of other furniture is oak finish. But the actual unit is noticeably darker than those photos make it out to be. While still brown, the pattern has many gray accents and it's overall much more muted / less vibrant than the oak finish on our other furniture (including older Sauder pieces). It still looks good, but I would have appreciated it if those product shots more accurately represented the real color. But if you doubt me, look at the photo -- You can see the edge of a piece of oak furniture this unit has been placed next to, and the color difference is very clear. Also clearly not close to the oak stain finish on my floor. It doesn't look *bad*, but it's not quite in line with the rest of the furniture in that room, which is all warm oak and maple. My bigger complaint, however, is with the plastic door / drawer brackets they include. Neither the short gold screws used to mount the drawer rails, nor the screws on the door hinges would go into the pilot holes of those brackets more than a single turn of my screwdriver before getting completely stuck. I nearly stripped the head of one of those drawer rail screws before getting the rail piece solidly into place. So, contrary to the instructions that say there's no need for power tools, I had to bust out my Makita drill and use the 1/4" bit to widen the holes enough to make screwing the door hinges into place a realistic endeavor. Before I did that I spent 15 minutes trying to get the doors screwed into place, and failing miserably because the screws simply would NOT go into that hard plastic. Sauder, please -- if you're going to use super-hard plastic for mounting, make sure to drill properly sized pilot holes for the screws that will eventually go into them! Having to deal with that changed what was looking like a 3-hour assembly time into four hours, since I wanted to avoid making the holes TOO large and started with a 7/32" bit before getting to the 1/4" one as the "just right" size.Other than that, this is a great unit. Quality as always, and once the doors and drawer are properly adjusted for alignment you'd never guess to look at it that it's RTA.

Flaw overcame & Paper covered particle board
Good instruction but difficult in door installation. Front outside corners of cabinet are only held in place by only two steel brackets. When door was installed, brackets bent because hinges were not in the correct adjustment. Had to bend steel back and additionally secured front panels with glue and screws to make solid. Once secured, the doors were reattached again and one of the hinges had a faulty screw but were able to use anyway.Be aware the cabinet is paper covered particle board. Common in inexpensive furniture. If damaged cannot be repaired. Nicked a couple of spots in assembly an will live with these forever. Be careful in assembly.

Very nice, but...
Entry Storage Model 423983. Gave this 4 stars for the following reason: On the front of the top molding, letter C/D there is a dent right directly in the front lip and is noticeable. Other than that the Entry Storage Cabinet is very nice.

Really nice looking cabinet!
Really happy with this! Wasn’t expecting much for the price but looks like a more expensive cabinet. We just wanted something to hold the grandkids toys. We are going to put it in a corner until we put it together. It was to pretty to stick in a corner! Feels pretty sturdy for particle board. Took about 3 hours to put together and my hubby is good at that. No problems tho and are very happy!
