If Rapunzel were Rachelle

Cudos to the author for creating a book for our black and brown little girls to read and see. I have purchased her books for every little black and brown girl that I know.

This book is amazing! It's the perfect book for girls to gain confidence in their hair as well as girls learning about diversity. Words like "coils," "bantu knots" and "big chop" add to the accuracy of the book and makes it more relatable. I purchased this for my girls as a Christmas gift. I already read the book, but I can't wait to read it with them.

Love this story and the illustrations that went along with it. A great spin on traditional fairy tales for African American girls.

This was the absolute cutest book! And now there's a book that I can relate to as well as little girls that look like Rachelle. I can't wait to see what other books the author publishes!

I did not want this book to end! I love that the author used challenge words and didn't talk down to the reader just because it's a children's book. If Rapunzel were Rachelle will be added to my classroom library next year and I'm so excited to use it to help broaden my students' vocabulary!
