Only solution for brunettes with brassy hair!
After ending up with brassy hair ( as many brunettes do when they go lighter or when their hairstylist adds too many gold/warm tones to their hair) i looked everywhere for a toner that would not force me to go dark again. I tried Purple shampoo...it did nothing to my hair (I even tried the unorthodox version of putting it on dry hair and letting it for more than 30 minutes...it did nothing beside dry my hair terribly). I tried Wella toner T18 with 20 vol developer...made my hair even more brassy and colored my roots in a reddish color. Finally I came across the Igora 8-1 mousse...I was hesitant at first but was desperate so I ordered it....Im so happy I found this product, gets rid of most of the brassiness (not all of it unfortunately) makes my hair smother and shinier. It washes out almost immediately after 2 washes but if you put it after every wash makes you hair look great. If you are a brunette with brassy hair don't spend your money on purple shampoo or toners that need developer (which will damage your hair), this product is totally worth the money!

It works, but be careful
So, this product does work quite well--almost too well! The product recommends 3 - 5 minutes for just a quick tone; 15 - 20 for a deeper tone. I left it on for 20 mins....So it definitely toned...a little too much. My really light blonde pieces turned blueish-gray, BUT my brassy pieces definitely became a nice ashy color versus the brassy copper they were. This product also holds. I've washed my hair 3 times and it's still in...SO...if you have really light pieces of hair, maybe wrap them in foil to keep them away when applying this toner (or just clip them up). My hair type is: naturally light brown with many highlights. So it's a mix of light brown, dark blonde, and light blonde highlights (blended well). My texture is fine with a light wave (quite frizzy if air-dried, lol).I think anyone dealing with brass should get this. You may only need to use it once every 3 weeks. I also really love Matrix's blue shampoo and conditioner (Can you tell I've had a lot of experience keeping brass at bay?...But at least I can helpfully say these 3 products work. I've tried WAY too many...).

Review on 8-1 light blonde
First off let me start by saying I have the best hair stylist ever, she always does a great job at giving me the perfect ashy dark blonde with 0 brassiness but I thought I would be able to achieve it on my own so I bought L'Oréal 8 1/2 ash blonde and revlon frost and glow to do some sunkissed highlights. I only apply both products onto the roots. The result: a total disaster!! Not even 20 minutes of purple shampoo could tone it. So after looking at my hair all orange and crying I looked up this product and bought it. Not gonna lie, I was really skeptical about it. You can see the results by yourself. Amazing! Love love love this product!! I washed my hair normally and apply this onto the wet roots and left it for about 20 minutes. My hair is shiny and silky and love the color!! Totally recommend this product!

It is last 1 day . Waste your time

Not for me
Was too harsh for my hair. Left on only a few minutes at the roots and it broke my hair...:(

Incredible results!
Best product I’ve ever used! I’m amazed at how much easier the mousse texture spreads throughout the hair and the results are exactly what I wanted to get from my hairdresser, but ended up with gold/brassy tones after two washes. I went from hating my hair color/tone to loving it, just from this one product! Incredible!

Toner for blonde hair, not colorant for roots.
This would best be described as a toner, not a semi-permanent colorant. Darker colors in this line of product are the same as the Igora permanent color, but this a faintly lavender foam. It will not cover your gray at all as a temporary fix as the darker colors do, only reduce some brassiness in your already colored blonde hair. Should not be described as semipermanent colorant.

Beware
I love this stuff, it works much better than purple shampoo but one time I left it in my hair for too long (20 minutes) and it was so ash that my hair looked green lol but if you're looking to ash up that hair hunnnyyyy try it out!
