Lightweight, maybe too sticky still?
After five years of getting my toes stepped on in krav maga, I finally bought these due to issues with joints in one of my feet.I actually changed ALL my shoes, and my feet are feeling better - can't say which pair made the difference ultimately, or if all helped. On to this particular shoe....These seem like they will last, after wearing them for several classes now. The traction is, well, pretty good. It hangs me up a little bit on my round kicks, putting extra strain on my knees. However, I'm not sure less traction would be safe given the sweat drops folks leave around the mats.My biggest surprise was that they have so little material on top of the feet. It really doesn't offer much protection to the top of your foot at all - either when round kicking pads or if someone steps on you. It'll help reduce toe stubs and catches on the floor, and general abrasion. Overall I'm happy, other than wishing I had ordered black.... :)

Third Pair--Good Lightweight Mat Shoes
This is my second repurchase (third pair in total) of these mat shoes. They provide the lightweight protection I am looking for during kickboxing and resistance band strength training. I have found that each pair lasts about 2.5 years with daily use (that comes out to less than a dollar a day so well worth the cost). Two things to note: these shoes run big (especially for women) so always size down 2-3 sizes. For reference, I wear a size 9.5 in street shoes, but wear a size 6.5 in these shoes. Second, If you're looking for something more substantial or shoes that provide arch/ankle support, I would recommend to look elsewhere.

Very Nice but get them a full size smaller than normal if you use for martial arts.
These are very light and comfortable, and look great. They do a nice job gripping the mat and still allow me to pivot when kicking. There were a lot of mixed reviews as to whether these were sized correctly or not. I use them for TaeKwonDo and I strongly agree with another reviewer who said to get them a full size smaller than you normally wear. I usually wear an 11.5 but had to return them as they felt a little too large. I got size 11 which feel better but due to the flexible material, they tend to allow some slippage on the foot when pushing to the side. For that reason, I should have gotten 10.5. Not sure how they will hold up as of yet. I've worn them for about 5 or 6 classes and so far the seams and soles seem to be holding together fine. I'll update on their durability in the future.

Worn out in 6 months.
After just 6 months (12 hours a month on the heavy bag), the right shoe wore out at the toe.

Happy With the Quality & the Price...
These are men's shoes so, since I am a woman and as suggested in other reviews, I ordered a full 2 sizes smaller. They fit well on my wider foot, even slightly loose. I can certainly wear them the way they are but, if I was trying them on in a store, I would have tried on another 1/2 size smaller just to see if they would have fit a little more snug on my foot. However, I may have found that would have been to tight. I am using these shoes for my kickboxing classes and they are great for that. The soles give me just the right amount of traction on the mat. According to the picture, I ordered the black shoes with what I thought was a white back. When the shoes arrived I found the back to be a light grey color but I am happy with the quality of the shoes for the price.

A decent option
It’s hard to find a martial arts shoe in my size (13). What few are out there are either too small or narrow. These fit well (a tad snug but I expect will stretch) but the soles are a bit narrow which can affect balance depending on what you’re doing

Martial art shoes
Ordered for grand-daughter and she just loves them. The only thing she has a problem with it that they are made with a hard sole and not bendable for the toes. Nicely stitched. On a whole this shoe is very well made.

Great!
After a few tries with the sizing, found my size. I normal wear size 8-8.5 US, but is 7.5 with these shoes.
