Osborne's comments put a Westerner's perspective to Ramana's teaching. This book helped me with my attempts to pracitce and understand self enquiry.

want a book that is a precursor to books like "Power of Now" or "New Earth"? This is the teachings of a guru. No dogma. Just pure teachings on the power presence.

I have many of the books with teachings, and talks of this True Maharishi...many of them of course are very similar.It can be difficult to sift through all of them. This Version is great in many ways. It really cuts to the Heart of His Teaching. The Q & A format that is easy to follow. Mr. Osbourne actually spent time with Ramana.It is neither too short in length, nor too long.. in that it prevents having duplicate or very similar questions and answers.Organization of the subject matter is very smart. After reading This at home, and "Be as You Are": 'The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi' at my office... I have found that these two books have many of the same Questions and Answers.This one has less pages but it has enough content.Less is More in this case and both books are close enough to the same price to make this the better choice.These two are not biographies nor someone re hashing His Teachings and Outlook; just straight talk.Osborn's introduction is much clearer and concise; the flow is also greatly enhanced. Font size and type are superior.Overall, This book is of much higher quality than the Penguin type paperback of 'Be as You Are'. Nice thick acid free paper etc..You can not go wrong with either, but... Magnificent book. A wonderful introduction to Maharshi and his teachings. Makes you feel who the man was, what he meant, how your life can be transformed. Never boring, exciting reading. You will not regret buying this one. To be read over and over again when you feel you lose touch...
