This is soo beautiful! I have it hanging in my bedroom to cover a little storage area/windows. It is not a blackout curtain- so no it does not black out all light. But, it adds some beauty to the room and hides the storage area. It does let some light in, but dims it a little. I would purchase this again. Oh, definitely do wash before you use it- it did get out the smell of the dye, but also left a little bit of blue behind in my dryer (which has not spread to my other clothes).
