Driving in the extreme heat of Arizona during virtually any season of the year puts quite a challenge on my vehicle's climate control system, so when having to replace a component in the system I did some research and found out about this little bit more expensive adjustable orifice tube which is supposed to operate more efficiently in extreme heat areas. I am going to put it to the test by replacing the original orifice tube with this in one of my Volvo wagons which has never seemed to get cool enough when needed in the hottest time of day, but will almost freeze meat at night or during cooler weather. If it works as expected it's really worth the extra cost.

This variable tube does work.It delivers a result at low demand or idle speed.The result at higher demand is lacking.Your system plan may be able to use this but the cost versus benefit ratio is not good.

Looks like a screen not an orifice! lol Well got this took the old one out and it worked and looked as it should. No need to spend additional money on a screen just get one that works!

The parts system said this would work on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car. I realize it’s an a/c delco product and normally used on GM vehicles. However, the parts system on Amazon said it would work. I purchased and installed it. The part fit in the tube, it was longer and the valve inside operated differently. My a/c did blow cold. However, it created a high pressure chatter noise when the compressor cycled.When I checked the pressures, it was holding pressure on the low side while the system was not running. I evaporated the system and replaced this part with a factory motorcraft part and the noise was gone and the system operated properly afterwards.I would not buy this part for a ford vehicle.

Works and fits the spot - 1999 Audi A6 Avant

The white part in the picture was red on the one I got. Also the orifice tube was longer. So as a result it would not fit in the ac system.
