AmarelliSENATORI 100G -3.5 OZ

I've tried most of the Amarelli Italian licorice products. The Senatori are among my favorite. Unlike some of the Amarelli products, the Senatori have a sweetener added to the pure licorice extract and therefore are not bitter. (In this they differ from Spezzata and Spezzatina.) What makes the Senatori unique is that they have a violet flavoring, which makes for a most interesting taste sensation of a mixture of strong licorice flavor with the milder tones of violet. Although these little drops are hard, they are not brittle, but become pliable and chewy if they are left in the mouth for a few moments. I would highly recommend these for anyone who is looking for an introduction to genuine Italian licorice.

I received several boxes of different types of Amarelli liquorice from a relative that was visiting from Italy, they are wonderful! My husband is a fanatic about liquorice and this is his favorite brand. I only wish we could buy it at more reasonable prices here in the United States!
