DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 - Fortnite Jet Black

First a foremost this is a counterfeited product for which Amazon is charging full price and clearly making it seem like sells are being fulfilled by Sony themselves when they're obviously not. This is illegal in so many ways it's crazy and I feel I was scammed by Amazon.I bought this controller specifically cause I was interested in the Fortnite bonus that obviously didn't work since the code was also bogus.To top it all off, after less than 24 hours of use the first signs of failure started to show, buttons becoming stuck in-game making it unusable for things like aiming in shooters which is what my son plays.I demand answers.

First off, I purchased this controller bundle from the seller "Red White Blue" so I can say that in my experience that they are a trustworthy 3rd party vendor. The packaging was in perfect shape, the code worked, and most importantly the controller is NOT fake.I'm sure you've seen some of the reviews and maybe some advice on how to spot a fake. I have some of my own for any who are wary of these and want to be sure that their controller isn't some fake that will fail on them in a few months or less.Part 1: Visual InspectionSome of these fakes are really well done and they'll be almost impossible to distinguish on the looks alone, but some don't try so hard and you'll notice some oddities like:"*The PS button logo being off-center*The font of text on the controller being overly bright*Large gaps in the seams of the controller*The thumbsticks looking cheaper with rough edges*The logo above the lightbar looking off*The sticker on the back missing / weird barcode that is surrounded by white box / incomplete information*It having "Sony Computer Entertainment" instead of "Sony Interactive Entertainment"Part 2: Touch & FeelThe first thing you'll notice on a fake pad is usually the buttons just feel off. The thumbsticks are usually too stiff and are louder than legit pads when you click them in. The touchpad will also be loud when pressed. Something else you might notice if you're familiar with DS4's is the weight. The fakes tend to weigh anywhere from 10-20g lighter. Put it on a mini scale and you can almost be sure if the weight is correct (215-221g is the legit average).Part 3: Plug it in, plug it in!Chances are, the battery will be low to dead if you're buying from a 3rd party seller so you're going to want to do this first anyway. Look at the light when you do. It should turn orange and start to pulsate while it's charging. If the light turns off while it's charging, it's a fake. Plug in some working headphones and make sure there's no crackling or popping audio as well.Part 4: Press play!If you've passed all these points with flying colors, you're probably good to go. Play a few minutes of your favorite game and get a feel for it. Are the inputs good? No weirdness with the sticks or any buttons unresponsive? Vibration working? I think we're in the clear, lads!Part 5: Look inside?!?Honestly, if you've gotten this far you most likely have a legit controller and don't need to do this. I did this because I was bored and was extremely curious due to a minor quirk between this one and my original controller. If you do this, you risk damaging your controller so be careful! Look up a video guide to disassembly if you're not sure how to proceed.The main things to look for inside is the battery pack and the company logo on the board appearance in general. The battery should be gray. If it's blue, black, or any other color it's either a refurbished unit or a fake. Look at a disassembly video and compare the boards for any discrepancies in layout and components. There should be none so long as you're using the same generation controller (these are V2).Finished! We did it! If you went the extra mile then you know for sure that you got a legit pad and can rest easy knowing that it probably won't fail on you in a few months. Hope this helped somebody. This controller just feels off. It feels like it has a cheaper build to it than the original. It has a more slippery feel when handling it. The thumb sticks feel loser than my original and the left thumb stick feels a little loser than the right. Could be my imagination but it feels that way. The box, the insert and the instruction manual were all in Spanish. Why? I'm sending it back.

I was leery of ordering this controller because of other reviewers saying they'd received a counterfeit, but I lucked out. Mine is authentic. Weight, Playstation logo and symbols the controller buttons check out. I've used it for a couple of weeks and all buttons and triggers work flawlessly on Fortnite, no lag, no excessive looseness. It also came with the redemption code for 500 vBucks, the blue PS4 exclusive version of the Neo Versa skin plus back-bling and the skin looks awesome in-game. Very simple, sleek-looking female skin and it's now one of my go-to skins. I'm happy with my purchase.

This is ridiculous!!! Spent almost $50 on a actual Sony Dual Shock controller since all the cheap ones go to crap in less then a month. Well guess what...even the real thing is crap. Ordered on March 16th and it's already broken. I use the joystick to turn and it just drifts back the other side of the screen without me even touching it. Therefore I can't even play any games cause I can't see where I'm going!

I agree with other posters. This product only lasted a month whereas my other controllers lasted years. It does feel lighter and looser than the other controllers. Specifically L2 trigger gave up and charging is difficult just like other posts. Too bad, it’s nice getting vbucks but not worth the trouble. Btw, try to claim warranty with PlayStation and you will be directed to PlayStation India where the chat feature has been disabled and phone number does not work. I did get an email directing me to the nearest service center in India

I got this bundle because it was cheaper than buying a DS4 controller outside of a bundle, but it doesn’t have any information about the battery or charging input on the box. I’ve discovered 5V1A charging cubes generally work to charge this controller. Since my PS4 is 13 feet away from where I sit while playing, it’s impractical for me to charge while playing unless I use a wall wart charger. It would have had five stars if the battery information were printed in an easy to find location.If it’s in the small print I didn’t notice it.I gave the Fartnite redemption code to my nephews who appreciated it. I’m not sure what a V-Buck is, but they loved that they got 500 for “free”.

I’ve had my eye on the Berry Blue PS4 controller for... a very long time, and I finally mustered up the courage (and cash) to buy it!!I’m very impressed, I love it so much, the colours are gorgeous and vibrant and the build quality is wonderful. I don’t understand why people are saying they got fakes?? As far as I can tell (and I have an original PS4 controller to compare it to), these are genuine! (Or maybe just mine is??) I wouldn’t let the negative reviews scare you off though if you’re a potential customer reading these reviews.Arrived very quickly too, seller was quick to respond to any questions and I felt like the customer care was up to par!!Thank you so much!
