After doing a bit of research on the best size of support wire for training my new fan trained apple tree, I chose the 2mm stainless wire from Westward Wire and Rope. I could have gone for slightly cheaper options, but the attraction of stainless steel is obviously that it will never need maintenance or replacement, and that's important, especially where it becomes densely entwined with branches or garden plants. A previous nightmare with cheap pvc covered carbon steel wire that corroded and failed left me vowing never again, because re-supporting a well established vine, tree or plant is incredibly difficult and will always cause damage. Talk about false economies!This wire is perfect for my job, and well made. Mine is constructed from seven tightly braided cores, each brained from 7 strands. This makes it flexible enough to bend around the  Stainless Steel Wire Rope Thimbles  that I've chosen to terminate my wires with, before crimping the loop. Using thimbles prevents you exceeding the minimum recommended bend radius of the wire, and it avoids chafing of individual strands. This adds up to creating a stronger and more reliable support structure.I'm delighted with my purchase and I'll be happy to return to Westward for more supplies in future. Customer service is good too by the way, with an email inquiry I submitted being promptly and fully addressed by a manager. Altogether I feel impressed.

The wire rope is of good quality and relatively easy to work with. Need tone awAre that it does not come on a drum or cable reel as shown in the picture which does make handling the rope slightly more difficult

Good quality wire! Really happy with my wire balustrade. One criticism though is that it doesn’t come on a spool so trying to run the wire through the posts on my own ended up in right tangle!

Great wire, been up about a week now - no issues except hard to cut and you really need a rotating blade.

Nothing wrong with this stuff! I wanted to put up some wire to train my vine and create a shaded area up the garden - this is perfect for that job and many more as well.

Excellent. Used to keep up armoured cable for outside power line between garage and shed.just the job, being stainless steel, no rust.

Price per meter is inconsistent in that buying a greater length can be more expensive per meter but in the 50 meter format it is excellent value and a quality product.
