The Well Adorned Home: Making Luxury Livable

This book was mentioned in a video by interior designer Bunny Williams. I am so glad I purchased it. Cathy Kincaid has assembled photo after photo of beautiful, timeless rooms. It has become one of my favorite design books for inspiration.

Where to begin. I had been familiar with Cathy Kinkaids work through shelter magazines for years but never knew who was behind the beautiful interiors until this book.The use of soft pallettes mixed with warm to deep tones is simply devine to the eye. Page after page of rooms filled with pattern and texture carefully curated with antiques and splashes of modern art. A wonder source for timeless interior design. Not for the empty, lifeless all white minimalists interior lovers. This book is all about collecting beautiful objects and furnishings while displaying them with restraint.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and viewing the exquisite photos. Each home is beautifully detailed, with many layers – wall coverings, fabric, lamps, art, and objects – all adding up to warm and welcoming interiors. There are 11 homes, each featured in its own chapter, including the designers own home. There is plenty of inspiration to draw from! The book concludes with a list of resources.My only (minor) complaint with the book is that some of the rooms described in the chapters are not included in the photos. It would have been nice to increase the length of the book just a few pages to include them all.

What can I say? I live in Dallas and Cathy is an ICON and blessed name in the interior design world. She was breaking glass ceilings before it was even a thing. She is beyond talented, color brilliant, and I look up to her so much. This book is worth every single dime of the investment for your coffee table and will blow your mind.

I enjoyed looking at this book but I did not care for the designer's use of color. The homes were lovely but lacked the impact that I would have expected. The best home pictured in the book belonged to the designer. It had more color and items of interest than the other homes. Bunny Williams wrote the forward for the book and I say I'll take Bunny Williams design over these any day. I can't recommend the book.

Beautiful book with wonderful spaces. It for sure is very inspired.

Designer Cathy Kincaid brings you inside some of her most noteworthy and iconic designs throughout her illustrious career. Starting out with Corley and Minton designs has only made this star even more noteworthy! Cathy's design aestetic is timeless and endearing. Blue and White FOREVER!!!!! Hands down-one of the most practical and beautiful design ideas to date. Not to mention her usage of Morroccan bone inlay tables is TO DIE FOR!

I have many interior design books. Sometimes they can be a bit disappointing but this one truly is over the top wonderful. I have been collecting for years and have seen trends come and go. The latest trend of cool colors, pale blues, grays etc are for the most part just boring and all tend to look alike. This book has it all! Cathy Kincaid designs are beautiful, imaginative and sophisticated. This design book has become my one of my all time favorites.

Bought this without knowing anything about the contents as I was inspired by the cover photo. Very pleased with the entire volume. Beautifully photographed and narrative is also useful. Have found some very good ideas for my home.

I loved every single page of the book. It's a visual journey in some of the most beautiful homes.

This book is amazing. Highly recommend. Made a fab Xmas gift.
