Saved us from having to buy a new dryer!
When our dryer stopped working, I was panicked because there was no way we could afford a new dryer. We couldn't even afford a new USED dryer, to be honest. After a bit of a pep talk, and me starting to disassemble the dryer myself, I convinced my husband to try to see if we could figure out what's wrong with the dryer, and fix it ourselves.Once we took the front panel off and saw the door switch, we knew that not only was that the problem, but that our dryer could've easily burnt our whole house down! Behind the front panel, where the door switch is located, it was full, and I mean FULL of lint!We got this dryer secondhand, and whoever owned it before us, had messed with internal stuff that they shouldn't have, and in the process, made it so that any lint that falls through the lint trap, accumulates right where the inner part of the door switch sits. There was probably 1/2lb of lint in there, when we took the front panel off. Before the dryer broke, I would often smell the faint smell of fire, but we could never figure out exactly where it was coming from... And now we know!Changing the switch was super easy. The whole process only took maybe 30 minutes. And that includes the extra time my husband had to spend rewiring the door switch, since our old one burnt up. AND my husband had never done anything like this before either, so I'd really only rate this a difficulty of about 2.. Maybe 3, on a scale from 1-10.I highly suggest that if you've done the research, and determine that your problem is likely the door switch, to buy this and change it yourself.Worst comes to worst, you're dryer is still not working, just like it was before you tried to fix it, and you're out like $12 (or you return the part.)Don't be intimated by the thought of disassembling your dryer; it's super easy. If you can work a screwdriver, then you got this! The whole thing was so fast and easy (and cheap,) that I joked to my husband that we should start an appliance repair business.. and I'm only halfway kidding lolWe used this part on a GE Gas Dryer: Model # dhdsr46gg1ww and it was a perfect match. Please let me know if you found my review and/or pictures helpful, or if you have any questions I might be able to answer.

Simple Fix When This Switch Wears Out.
This is an exact replacement. Thus, it will fail again if you use it to pause the dryer. My dryer would not tumble, so I removed the top (two screws) and the front (two more screws) and swung the front to the left side. Using a VOM, I checked the continuity of the door switch. It was intermittent, but mostly not working. So I replaced it. Still the motor would not start. So I tested every other part that was possibly failing--except the controller. Everything else was working. It had to be the controller--or more specifically the motor relay. A new controller fixed the dryer.Actually, the new controller, which fits many different models, made the dryer work better.I analyzed the old door switch and failed relay. What I found was that using the door to pause the dryer caused arcing in the door switch after a thousand or two pauses, the switch contacts were burned off on the motor side (the other side turns the interior light on and off.). Interestingly, the motor relay had the same problem. Interesting that they failed simultaneously. The new controller board, however, changes the way the door switch functions by not permitting the door switch to turn on the motor back on. One must press the start/pause button on the controller. This prevents the door switch from arcing. The controller also seems to have other improvements, doing a better job of controlling the heater coils and determining how long the drying cycles will take to complete. But note, the initial time on the first run will be very long. The controller learns as it goes. After 30 or so loads the time is rather accurate.

It works
Our dryer made a weird friction noise whenever the drum was rolling. To try and save a few bucks, we dismantled it ourselves (not that difficult), cleaned it up (a piece of broken zipper was stuck against the drum, making that noise), but we unknowingly dismantled this door switch (was not necessary). We were never able to put it back together so bought this one to replace it. It was delivered in <48 hours and works like a charm. Piece of advice: check videos on youtube before you try yourself at these repairs, but by all means, do try to fix it yourself. It probably saved us a good 100$ and the time for a technician to become available to come

Excellent
I'm not pretty sure if they will work for every GE dryer but at least for mine fits to perfection and works as desired. It's an official GE piece so you cant go wrong.
