Wowza. Vintage 1900 property benefitting from these east peasy helper friends. A few tips for challenging installs.Used these in two different style doors. Original side door the previous however many owners didn’t maintain. But is in great shape to save. Restore. With a few upgrades.Though alone this insulation trim doesn’t work. These two options to help depending on how fancy you prefer the insulation. For the side door used furring strips. You can sand them or not. When renovating will upgrade to oak strips. The furring are one inch. Oak could be inch or 1/2 inch.Once the strips are installed. Make sure any gaps host caulk for a solid seal. This base gives a solid frame depth. The struggle I was having is the door has inconsistencies so this new insulation would snug the door. With the new frame stop using furring or fancier oak the insulation lays snug. For oak need predrilled holes so as not to split the wood.Highly recommend installing at night. Laying your head against the door to see if light creeps through the insulation once installed. I had to work hard to snug the trim along the front door. More on this below.Discovering the front door that’ll eventually be replaced isn’t flat. Has slight dips using the night time installation found solutions.Installed 1/2 oak stop with predrilled nail holes every eight inches. Closed the door. Then, this insulation trim. With door closed, one screw at a time press the insulation snug, then screw in. Ensuring the light doesn’t peel through. One spot had a sliver of light. I tapped the insulation while the door is closed between screws in the one area with a sliver of light. This helped close the gap.For the price and outcome am so happy I discover this method as nothing else helped put property. The front door will be replaced with framing, but not this year. The door isn’t original and the previous owner used a cheap replacement to the historic wood version.Of all the methods I’ve tried this is the best. The struggle is the hearty rubber barrier. To make it a barrier required a lot more effort then simply screwing it in with the door open.My expectation this winter is the possibility of cold air sneaks by. Compared to the wind tunnel issues when first taking possession am here for the best version of anything I’ve found so far.Another option that worked in the attic was furring strips and 1/4 foam stuck along the edge. This didn’t work on the front door or side. These required a more flexible reinforced edge. Found with this aluminum option. At each screw can mold the piece to a door that’s variable due to age.One thing another reviewer mentioned didn’t work for me. I did attempt to use caulk under the frame within the dip. And, along the edge one installed. Under sucks. Along the edge is the win.I’m some spaces the metal doesn’t lay flat. There’s variables during install from using screws and adjusting for each space. Clear caulk along the aluminum is helpful as needed.Hope these experiences are helpful.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯

Decent seal but poor packaging and shipping
I ordered 2 sets of this seal. Overall they seem to be good quality and work well. I’m reducing my rating because one set was bent pretty bad at the end but luckily I didn’t require that much length so I cut it off. The other set was missing screws so I had to supply my own.

Great Material
My husband has his own Commercial Door installation company and as an emergency needed some weatherstripping. He stated that they worked beautifully and was great material 👍🏻

Package damaged items missing, don't order
Item arrived with packaging barely attached, pieces missing, screws missing. Reached out to manufacturer and they said to contact Amazon. Amazon wants me to return what is left of the item before they will replace or refund. Ridiculous ! Don't recommend this

Stopped the drafts!!
Even though I am in Florida, we get some cold weather. One door on my apartment had sunlight coming thru. The owners wanted to put sticky foam to seal it, but I wanted something that would hold up. These did the trick. Got them a little too tight against the door and made it hard to open and close. Adjusted the screws a little and now it all works great!

A bit stiff
Be aware that this seal material is a bit stiff, so the door pressure against it will be somewhat light. If you mount it with too much door pressure you will have trouble with the door closing properly.
