Semogue, 1250 Shave Brush - Boar Bristle

Great little brush, very straight forward. The bristles are always a bit stiff at first for boar but as long as you soak them in nice hot water every time you shave they soften up beautifully. The wood handle is smooth and heavy which I love, the whole thing has a quality feel. I took the sticker off because I was worried the bathroom steam would mess it up and it came off easily and did not leave a residue. On the bottom of the brush, the flat bit it does say semogue but as I stand the brush up to let it dry I don’t see it ever. It doesn’t detract from the brush at all I just personally do not like branding on products.

I love this brush. It has softened up really nicely. I let the brush soak in a mug of hot water while I'm in the shower. It has great backbone and I can generate great lathers with this brush. The brush will easily hold enough lather for three passes plus clean up. I actually prefer this brush over two other badger hair brushes that I have. It doesn't shed bristles at all. For the price this is excellent.

Great brush. Lathers well and has great backbone. Only reason I gave it four stars instead of 5 is that the picture shows a nice stained handle. The handle you will get is the same color as the boar bristles. All in all great brush and still beautiful, but just not exactly what I was hoping to get aesthetically.

I have 4 Semogue brushes with this being the least expensive. This runs a bit on the smaller side. It's perfect for loading the brush out of a smaller 1 or 2 oz. Soap container. (It will still work great on the standard size tubs...you might just have to load it one time more.) Performance is excellent right out of the box. It will also get better with age as it continues to break in. In addition, whichever Semogue you get, they all look great, with the appearance of excellent workmanship. If your tired of the run of the mill generic looking brushes, check out Semogue. They'll add a little pizazz to your collection.Whether this is your first or fiftieth brush, you'll like it.

YMMV. The brush is good quality, but the bristles are too stiff for me. My face stings for the whole day after using this brush. Used it twice on my face and never again. Also note that I soaked and dried it around 30 times before using it a second time and it still was too stiff and sharp.

This is a nice brush, it's comfortable to hold and the face splay is good. I think it's a great beginner brush. It's taken me longer than expected to break in and I've had to work harder loading soap which is the reason I've gone three stars rather than four.

I’ve owned over 14 boar hair shaving brushes, 4 of which were Semogues. This one was the one brush besides the 610, 820 and Semogue owners club that I couldn’t keep my hands off of. I’m a face latherer, and once broken in this brush becomes in my opinion, just as soft as any badger brush. Plenty of backbone, good splay, and lathers up beautifully. The price point is also outstanding for a brush of this quality so there should be no reason that any wet shaver wouldn’t have this in there Arsenal.

The first time this was used it shed over 25 hairs, probably more but I just wanted to finish shaving. Ive noticed it has gotten plenty of 4-5 star reviews so maybe i was unlucky and just received a crappy one.

Excellent wooden handled with blonde boar bristle shaving brush. Nicely scrichy and will soften with use.

La brocha calidad precio esta muy bien , la altura del mango perfecta, la altura de las cerdas perfecta , la calidad de las cerdas muy buenas , no lo pongo 5 estrellas porque desde mi opinión el diametro del nudo de las cerdas me parece escaso

Semogue è un marchio famoso portoghese, noto in tutto il mondo per i suoi pennelli, specialmente quelli in setola di maiale, come questo. Quindi, è un pennello ben noto e collaudato da anni. La qualità delle setole è 90% best, che significa che è la 2a migliore qualità usata dalla casa portoghese (dietro la premium) e che 90% delle setole arrivano fino alla sommità del ciuffo. Le setole, già dalla 2a rasatura sviluppano le doppie punte, però, nel mio caso, il rodaggio per arrivare a condizioni soddisfacenti, ha richiesto 6 rasature. Il manico sulla base, riporta il marchio Semogue in bassorilievo. L' adesivo invece, si può togliere. Cercando di tirare le somme:PRO:- Ciuffo con setole di alta qualità, più fini delle solite setole Omega pro, backbone molto equilibrato (moderato). Il ciuffo si apre bene in viso. La puzza iniziale era debole e sparita dalla 2a rasatura.- Manico in legno semplicemente stupendo, liscio e molto ergonomico.- Marchio che è una garanzia.- Ottimo per montaggio in viso.- Una volta rodato, il ciuffo si apre molto di più di un' Omega. Nonostante il nodo piccolo, il diametro del ciuffo sbocciato, sulla parte alta supera di poco quello dei pennelli medi Omega.CONTRO:- Il mio esemplare ha perso circa 37 setole in 6 rasature. Solo 2 nell' ultima, quindi spero che si assesti. Questo può aver a che fare con il metodo artigianale con il quale ogni nodo si assembla, quindi può capitare un pennello meno fortunato.- Purtroppo, siamo in Italia e a metà prezzo ci sono degli ottimi pennelli Omega, con caratteristiche simili (serie 80XXX), a metà prezzo. In Portogallo il pennello costa 12,50 EUR, il che mi pare più consono al prodotto.- Il nodo dichiarato è 22x55. Il nodo effettivo misurato da me, è 21x52mm. Tanto è vero che entra in supporto da 21mm. Il nodo è quindi un po' più piccolo di quello che pensavo e nelle prime rasature, fa fatica a caricarsi di sapone abbastanza per 2 passate (bisogna ricaricare per arrivare alle classiche 3 passate). Se fosse veramente un 22x55, forse avrei chiuso un' occhio a tutto il resto, e dato 5 stelle.- Il rodaggio è più lento rispetto agli Omega. Ho un piccolo Omega 22x50 che già dalla 2a rasatura, si caricava di abbastanza sapone per 4 passate.Se volete togliervi lo sfizio di avere un Semogue, questo è un pennello molto buono. Potreste anche fare un pensierino per il 1470, che costa un po' meno. Altrimenti, per qualcosa di comparabile, esistono i pennelli medi (24mm) italici tinti come un tasso, che anche loro hanno setole più fini del solito.

Ich bin ein Afficionado dieser famosen Borstenpinsel aus portugiesischer Produktion.Im Besitz der etwas bekannteren Modelle 620, 1305, 830, die sich weltweit grosser Beliebtheit erfreuen,ist der Semogue 1250 meine neueste Errungenschaft, welcher sich nahtlos in die 'Ahnenreihe' einfügt.Nach kurzer Einarbeitungszeit, d.h. Reinigen in Seifenlauge, 3maliges Aufschäumen mit Rasierseife sowieentsprechender Trockenzeit ist der Pinsel für den erstmaligen Gebrauch einsatzbereit.Für die erste Anrwendung habe ich einen 30 gr Puck Golddachs verwendet.Der Rasierschaum war in Null,Nichts aufgeschlagen und im Gesicht ca. 1-2 Min. direkt aufgetragen,mit bemerkenswertem Volumen, stabil und dauerhaft.Trotz der geringfügig 'minderen' Qualität der Borstenzusammensetzung bietet der 1250 ein gleich gutesRückgratverhalten wie die anderen Vertreter seiner Familie, wobei er überraschend weich und angenehmim Gesicht werkelt.Ich würde ihn jedem noch so teueren Dachs vorziehen.Obrigado, Portugal !
