Useful for many folks
This lift ring would be helpful for someone dealing with weakness and needing assistance rising and transferring. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for my father, who has balance problems. It just didn’t create the stability he needed. Very useful I’m sure for people that just need a boost. Sturdy hard plastic construction. Definitely strong.

Simple, but effective!
This product has been a life saver for me and my family! It looks too simple to work so well but has been invaluable in helping my mobility.

In 4 years of taking care of my elderly parents - this is the SINGLE BEST THING that I have purchased that makes BOTH our lives better!! For a year, I was trying to assist both parents getting out of chairs, out of the car, off the toilet and I was using my back and shoulders and knees and ...it was brutal. My Dad is 90, but he is still 250 pounds vs my 145 pounds. He's a big guy, so lifting him all the time has been brutal, and is not easy, especially since he really can't help himself stand, so I was dealing with almost dead weight. Over the years, I've injured my shoulder, my back, and pulled a hernia trying to lift him. Then I saw the Pull Me Up here and thought "well, for $17, it's sure worth a try!!" - - and I have to say THIS IS THE SINGLE BEST ITEM I have purchased to assist and has made the most magnificent difference in our lives. When used correctly, it is absolutely easy, painless, and causes ZERO strain to either me OR my parents. I keep one Pull Me Up in the house, and one in the car, and I take it everywhere we go! I no longer spend my days hurting myself and hurting them. I have demonstrated it to nurses in doctors offices, to caregivers in assisted living facilities, and to anyone else that will listen that cares for people who need assistance out of chairs/off the toilet/out of a car. And when Dad and I demonstrate it, everyone is amazed!! I show how he'd try to get out of a chair on his own (just short of impossible) and how EASY it is with the Pull Me Up! This simple device is GENIUS because it has made my life - and my parents lives - so much better!! The KEY to doing it correctly is first, to make absolutely sure that both your arms and the other person's *arms are straight*, elbows locked . Then equally as important, going slowly, and saying "One, Two, Three, Stand" - so that the person has got their brain mentally thinking about standing which causes them to get the right muscles engaged, even if they are almost incapable of helping (as my Dad is). This simple step keeps you in sync together to make this work. And then, when I say "stand", I do not "pull" up on the thing, I am simply leaning back, and physics does the rest. Like a charm!! Then...after Dad is up and standing, I don't let go of the Pull Me Up. It;s important to wait until the person needing assistance is completely stable, standing, and then we can sort of feel each other's balance...and only when we are both in agreement, we can let go of the Pull Me Up. I have NEVER EVER written a single review for any product on any site - but this one - I'm compelled to. In fact, I should probably work for the Pull Me Up company!! If you are a care giver of someone who cannot get out of a chair, but who can still understand basic direction...this thing is BRILLIANT!! I say "Buy It - your back and shoulders will thank you!! PULL ME UP (PULL ME UP 2 Hands)

Wonderful Product from a Wonderful Company!
The Pull Me Up is a Wonderful Product from a Wonderful Company! My wife's mother is 90 years old and had recently fallen during the night. She was on the floor and unable to get help for about 8 hours until help arrived. Although she didn't suffer and serious injuries, she was badly bruised and sore enough not to be able to get up. My wife has been looking for items to help her recover and gain her strength back. She found her a rolling walker and cane for easier mobility and was looking for a device to help her get to her feet from a sitting position easier. She found this Pull Me Up on Amazon and ordered it. She knew from the first time she used it that this was it! Her mother out weighs her by many pounds and by using this to assist her, she was able to get up out of her recliner with ease. It works extremely well and makes it easy to pull her up. All you have to do is follow the instructions and make sure the other person scoots to the edge of the chair and leans forward before you lift. I wrote to Rising Improvements to express our thanks and kudos to the inventor for this wonderful device. The Chief Operating Officer, Mindy Moore of Rising Improvements quickly replied with a very warm response and information on how the Pull Me up was invented. I would like to share this with you as it is a great story of American ingenuity: "I wanted to take a moment and share with you that my 95-year old father, Robert L. Miller, Sr., invented the PULL ME UP™ in early 2014 after his doctor told him it would be 3 to 6 months before he'd be able to get up out of his chair following shoulder surgery. Realizing the surgery wouldn't affect the strength in his other arm, he fashioned a 2-sided handle using materials from his workshop with hopes his 125-pound caregiver could use it to pull him out of his chair. Sure enough, just a couple of days after he got home from the hospital, she pulled him up very easily with his "pull me up" and he knew then he was on to something."Thank you Mr. Miller for your invention and sharing it with us. We just ordered and received our second Pull Me Up today and plan on purchasing more in the future. Other folks in my mother-in-laws senior community have seen it and want to order it too.

Doesn't work well for me, but maybe good for others!
I think it could be useful to some people under proper use and conditions. But for my own condition, I find it very difficult to pull myself up with it, without pulling too hard (dead weight) against the other person holding/pulling it, resulting in them having to pull too hard with upper body, back and shoulders and throwing their footing/body weight off balance, causing the item to be an insecure, movable, unstable object and dangerous form of lifting, which could cause falling or severe injury to both myself and/or the other person holding/pulling it. I am roughly pushing 140 lbs, not overly heavy, but disabled and have difficulty getting up. So it is like the other person trying to pull & force dead weight. I suppose if I was small and lighter weight with less physical complications or had a much bigger & stronger person holding it to keep it more stabilized that it might be better! Person helping was slightly smaller than me!

Very sturdy but can be slippery with wet hands...
Overall, a good product that has eliminated the bruises that developed when I pulled my wife up by her hands. Strong, sturdy, very noisy when dropped on a hard surface, and my only wish is that there were some sort of non-slip covering on the handle areas for when hands are wet. Can get pretty slippery.
