Wolf Tooth Silicone Mountain Bike Grips: Karv

I've seen these grips around and they look awesome. I decided I was finally going to try some. I love them! I've recently been training for an Xterra triathlon and these grips fit the bill in a few ways. 1. They are comfy for longer rides. 2. I don't wear gloves for the ride because it's right after the swim and putting gloves on wet hands is a waste of time in my opinion. 3. They're actually pretty grippy when wet. I have yet to slip off of them. I can't speak to longevity as I've only had them a few months and no big crashes. Time will tell but so far I'm impressed. They aren't the easiest to install but I found using rubbing alcohol did the trick. They also allowed the alcohol to dry up way faster than more rubbery grips do. I'll probably buy more when it's time. And I want to get a set for my flat bar CX bike soon too. I may try the ESI version just to say I did. Overall, A+. Great grip!

I need some grips that I could cut shorter. Because of the gear shift on my handlebars, the grip area is small. The grips were easy to cut with a sharp knife. It took a bit of effort to twist the grips onto the handlebars. Wetting the bars with alcohol definitely made it easier to get them on. They feel great and don't move out of position. Very pleased with this purchase.

1.5-year updateI ride daily, these grips are beginning to fray on the ends. I rotated them 90 degrees & now they are like new again. Added two more pictures. So far, I am pleased with these grips, if they last another year & a half, I'll buy another pair & rate these 5 stars.****** original review *******More expensive than the last pair I bought, though feel to be of higher quality. However, the end plugs on these grips are not good. I purchased better end plugs. Not such a great deal when you factor in the cost of better end plugs.

I have an old Brahma bar on my mountain bike and my rubber grips were breaking down and becoming sticky. I decided to try these and was pleasantly surprised. My hands are large but not huge. These grips gave me the right diameter for a secure grip and provide the right amount of cushioning without being squishy soft. The silicone foam has just the right amount of tack for me. I have another pair of grips that I use on the bar end sections of the one piece bar. I wet the bar and inside of the grips with a mild soap solution to make installation easier. These grips look like foam grips that used to be a cheap but short term option. Once you touch them, however. you realize these are a completely different animal.

I installed these on my bike in under a minute ; it’s super easy if you just follow the directions. Spray your handlebar & the inside of the grip with 91% isopropyl alcohol , then QUICKLY push them into place . It couldn’t be easier :)They’re tacky grippy. I’m quite pleased with them. My only regret is going with the Karv model which is smallish when installed at 32mm. I ordered the Fat Paw which has an installed diameter of 36mm, which will suit me better.

Love these grips. I do a lot of jumps and these grips give me some comfort and feel, as opposed to being stiff and hard. I bought the middle size and the smaller size for my son, and both are great.

So these are light, comfortable, grippy, and everything you would like for an XC grip, however after 3 rides they are already ripping and chunky on the edges. I did get one tree strike that took a chunk out and lost the bar end, but other than that they are falling apart a bit faster than a conventional grip. I like the weight savings and they really are comfortable, but for the same price as a super nice ODI grip for a chuck of foam, I’ll probably just switch back and have some grips that last 6+ months rather than a few weeks.Side note for those who do go this route, use alcohol to wet the inside of the grip and bar to install and also use a tape measure to get the length right as the can squish or stretch a little once on. Once set let it dry and they’ll hold tight. They also have a tapered edge on one side I would put that towards the outside just to avoid as much ground contact if you set your bike down on the ground often.

Clearly some people like this but it's not for me. I thought being made of a special silicone mix would be way more premium feeling than it is. To me it resembles the cheap foam grips but more sticky on my hands when only gripping them for a few seconds. I guess if you have sore hands the thicker versions of this grip might be an advantage. They will be returned. I'm sticking with my lock on clamp style grip.

Instalation following instructions took about 30mins, including finding required items!Two 1 hour bouncy trail rides so far on a hot day, did not need gloves. Hands stick well and didn'thave to crush grip to keep control. Hands REALLY STICKY !!

Muy buen articulo, la sensación al agarre del manubrio es muy buena. Es importante que al momento de instalarlas se use alcohol para que pueda entrar bien. Los Tapones me costaron un poco mas de trabajo. En general quedaron muy bien. OJO: Ya no se pueden retirar una vez puestos, así que es mejor tener todo previamente pensado y preparado para su instalación.
