I purchased this a year ago or so, and have really put it through its paces with several different brands and models of speed lights, I have also done side by side comparisons to other modifiers, including the omni-bounce.First, the good: This just might be the prettiest box I have ever received and opened, inside you will find the brightest green tissue paper that you ever thought could never exist and there is SO SO SO MUCH of it.The not too professional looking Velcro strap does a decent job of holding the modifier to MOST speed lights, but if you are a poor unfortunate soul that doesn't have rubber along the side of your speed light then hopefully you are a fan of various types of duct tape ;) The modifier does work well when used without the domes provided. This kit, albeit a pricey one, might even save someone a little money, if only those select few that have several different brands and/or models which would require several different size specific bounce modifiers.The instructional pamphlet is helpful if you have never used a flash to bounce light, and there is a DVD with additional information. Sure, you could find this on a youtube or a quick google search but hey, this could save some people that effort.The bad: I'd be shocked if this whole kit costed more than $2 to manufacture, it is extremely cheap feeling (except the fancy box) from the case provided to the rigid plastic domes and flex rubber modifier. Therein lies the rub, the domes are made of a rigid plastic material, while the modifier is a flexible rubber material, so this should come at no shock to anyone that the domes don't stay put, in fact on more than MANY occurrences, I have had people walk up to me with my dome and say "I think you dropped this". Nothing more professional than having camera parts dropping all over the place ;) If the domes were threaded, perhaps they would work better but this pressure fit system is a joke. If you think that some gaffers tape can set you free, then bad news, friend..that does some crazy things with shadow, none of which are great. So basically you paid a heap of money for a indoor bounce modifier and product placement pouch with youtube videos.Final thoughts, I do still use this on occasion, domes stay home until I can find an alternative purpose for them, pouch is huge and silly. I think Gary Fong found a sucker in me and hopefully he doesn't find one in you.

I have not given this item the test it deserves. I have had little time to properly test the affects. However I do like how easy it is to assemble and carry on shoots. The delivery was amazingly fast. The vendor contacted me by email to inquire if I was satisfied. So I did appreciate the effort. I highly recommend the product for portability and the vendor for taking an interest in my satisfaction.Update: Jan, 2020I had the opportunity to use this this Christmas, the difference in light quality was amazing. My portraits were soft and more natural looking. I definitely noticed the difference in the shot. Love this flash modifying kit now!!

I did a lot of research online on whether or not I want to purchase the Light Sphere. I've heard the criticism about how it's just a piece of plastic or Tupperware. But on the flip side, I've also heard the praise for it. Then my coworker/photographer recommended it to me for an upcoming wedding, so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot.I use the Light Sphere with my Speedlite 430EXII. It fits perfectly and will rarely come off if you have the velcro wrapped tight enough. I'm not a fan of the big "GARY FONG' in white bold letters around the velcro, but its something that can easily be taken care of. The dvd comes with videos that you can pretty much find on his YouTube channel, but they do help you understand it a little better.I must say that ever since purchasing the Light Sphere, I never use my flash on-camera without it. The light it creates is so much softer and gives it that extra professional touch. It did exactly what I expected it to do, since weddings do not always allow you the luxury of setting up your complete lighting set up.

This unit is a life saver and does exactly what it is advertised to do. It does NOT make a bad photographer into a good one, but it does soften a flash resulting in a very pleasing soft light. Following the videos and what little documentation there is, it was easy to establish some guidelines to help make the results consistent.I had not shot a wedding in many, many years - but obligated myself to shoot my niece's wedding. After looking at the reviews and watching some videos, I decided to get the wedding kit and I am extremely happy that I did. The results were beyond my expectations. Editing was much easier due to the consistency of color, skin tone and luminosity of the images.It's a great unit. I haven't tried any portrature yet, but have used it to balance and fill in bright outdoor lighting. It does the job perfectly. Like anything else, it takes some practice, but it is fully worth it. I highly recommend it and the price it right.

I bought this for special events and like it for helping create more diffused light. I do have a problem with it staying on my flash. I have tightened it as much as you can and if you are in a crowd it get bumped. And then sometimes falls off... This can be slightly embarrassing when in a well heeled crowd. I am going to add black electrical tape to keep that from happening. The different types of diffusers are great for different lighting situations. Watch the DVD to learn how.

I now use this every time I use my Nikon SB800 flash on or off camera. I can clearly see an improvement with my photos when I use flash. I like the fact that this kit comes with a carrying case. The only problem I have with this is it can fall off when it is upside down. Very frustrating when using this in a party or event. The rubber and strap does not hold it in place strong enough to keep on when it is upside down. So be careful.

Best compact diffuser known to man. The gray card comes in really handy too. I've actually use this with my speedlight all by itself for portraits AND stock photography. I typically use a trio of lights in softboxes. Does a really amazing job if you follow the instructions that are included and something this compact can really help you out with packing light.

I thought this modifier was some sort of nonsense, but having seen a demonstration of them I was impressed enough to buy the Wedding and Event lighting kit. I was really glad I had it a few days later when I was able to even out the white balance at a very difficult venue with no trouble at all. It is lightweight and squashable. The little carry bag supplied with it looks professional and is spacious enough to put some other bits and pieces inside. It's probably best not to assemble it in front of clients as in its unassembled state it does look somewhat like a female contraceptive and may cause sniggering.

I am a professional photographer at Cambridge, UK. I was looking for a diffuser to use as fill light for outdoors and indoors photography. I started using this diffuser and I love it very much. Please find in the following link, pictures that I took with this diffuser with a Nikon SB700 flash. The lighting produced by this diffuser is just amazing, very warm an attractive to the eye. A great innovative kit.The only issue is that the rubber hoods are quite heavy and unless the flash gun is pointed up, or horizontal, the guns do tend to drop down with the weight of the system.The results though, are superb and this kit will transform your photography.

I'm still testing these but I may be using them wrong as I am still getting shadows in the background which it is supposed to eliminate. I have tested it versus the diffuser that comes with my Speedlight and I seem to be getting better results so far with my diffuser.

Got these just in time as I was leaving home to shoot a birthday party. Having the lightsphere on the flash diffused the light very well in the party and the images turned out really well.
