Heavy duty and reliable to stay on.
It is hard to figure out how to fit it and then clip it once on your dog. You get the hang of it though. However, it has provided a night and day difference in the response from my dog. Luckily, I have a trainer who recommended this as opposed to the regular prong collar and she has helped me use this correctly and get away from the normal "snap and correct" of the prong collars. This one, you simply apply a minimum amount of pressure by pulling upwards, and the dog reacts quickly with minimal need for verbal commands to assist. Recommend! It is pricey, though! My dog is about a 90lb Rottweiler for reference.

Good but could be better
I actually wanted to get one of these with a cliclock buckle but those either will not be available in the US or are taking a long time to get here. Too long for me to wait training my rambunctious gsd pup. To remove segments it's required you to use a tool to bend it open. Coming from using a prong with my bigger dog it's a bit of a pain. I ended up leaving the links slightly pried and the collar still works fine. Then I can add links as she grows. Eventually I'll replace this with a true prong collar when she's fully grown. My only real complaint is having to thread the chain through the end link every time I want to walk her. The loop fastener. Which would have not been an issue with the cliclock buckle. I do like the martingale part, though.

At first, I wasn't sure if this was a good idea...
I bought this collar after trying two popular harness brands and 6 weeks of training classes. In March of this year, I adopted an American Terrier mix as a rescue. She is a fairly obedient dog, but she goes insane when she sees rabbits. There was some hesitation about using a traditional collar because she would pull until she coughed from choking. We thought the harnesses would work, but even with the lead clipped in the front (which is supposed to deter pulling), she would twist herself around.I bought this collar after doing some research and was immediately impressed by the difference it made. We don't know much about her past, so it's possible she wore a collar like this in the past. But, for whatever reason, her pulling ceased as soon as we put it on. My dog now walks alongside us rather than dragging us along, and if she sees a rabbit, she will only pull until the collar cinches, at which point she will sit.The materials are high quality, and removing the links is simple. My only complaint is that the carabiner's twist mechanism can become stuck, and if you remove the collar by unclipping it (rather than sliding it on and off), and feeding the chain through the hole and clipping it together can be difficult at times.

Excellent training collar
My trainer recommended this particular collar for my pittbull. It made an instant change in our walks. He behaves nicely and doesn't pull. It took a couple of times, but now he walks with a loose leash. He gets very excited when he hears me pick it up, and dances around because he knows he is going for a walk. With proper training this is an excellent tool. Highly recommend

Pretty and functional. Pro's fav for tough young dogs.
I am a dog trainer with 25 yrs experience. This collar is my favorite for super strong pups and young, high-energy dogs. It's gentler than a classic pinch and easier to use than a slip collar, while retaining the sound you need to teach a dog to self-correct. It doesn't hurt, they don't even notice. They just don't lunge as much as they do without it and pay a little more attention to you, that's it. What you do with that attention is up to you. Be ready to reward your K9.Don't get the other (silent) neck-tech, it's not as fair or educational. The only thing I don't like about this piece (and HS in general) is their red metal tag. They could stamp the brand on the metal like everybody else, instead they add more "clink" and bulk to an already clinky and bulky thing. I just clip it off... No biggie. Their quality is top of the line, always.

Neck Tech Martingale
This collar works great on a dog than continually pulls, difficult to put on and take off but my dog can't get out of it, well worth the cost.
