Our SOLIDTEKNICS US-ION ‘workhorse’ skillet is crafted from solid 100% American wrought iron (very low in carbon steel) using our patented process. Each skillet is made from one solid sheet of malleable iron, which won’t warp in high-temperature environments and can never crack as cast iron can. This one-piece design eliminates seams and rivets, giving these high-performance pans additional strength and durability.Wrought iron is more conductive than common carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel cookware, allowing US-ION skillets to heat quickly and food to cook evenly and consistently EVERY time. Even the biggest steaks will not cool down on our 1/8" thick, highly conductive iron pans. They sear just like heavier cast iron, but without the unnecessary weight!Induction-compatible and tough enough for any oven (except microwaves), SOLIDTEKNICS skillets can be used on any cooktop and over open flames. Venting is built into the handle to dissipate heat and keep the handle grip cool to the touch for regular stovetop use and easy transport into the oven. Our pans are raw-finished and ready for seasoning. Just follow the seasoning and care instructions/videos on our website and build your own non-toxic and forever-renewable non-stick skillet with pride. With proper care, the natural, non-stick seasoning will last as long as the pan itself (ie. multiple centuries) and only gets better with time and cooking! We’re so confident in the quality of our skillets that we guarantee every pan with a multi-century warranty. Enjoy a lifetime of cooking with your healthy, sustainable, multi-century US-ION pan…then hand it down for many generations to come. Each skillet is engraved with the month and year of manufacture for heirloom collectability.Dimensions: Weight 2.4lbs, L 17.5”, Diam 7.5”, H at handle 2.45”, H of bowl 1.425”

Love this skillet
This is a great skillet. You need to season it well in the oven . I season mine 4 times in the oven then started frying in it now a egg will slide easily. Remember it will rust if u don’t season it . The long handle is great doesn’t get hot with normal use . It’s my favorite now it’s lighter than cast iron but takes longer to get it nonstick. I’ll say it again it WILL RUST IF NOT SEASONED !!!! Update I’ve season it with lardbee 5 more times on the grill at 475 to 500 degrees it’s really slick and works great 👍

OUTSTANDING pan
I've got a couple 100 year old cast iron skillets and a De Buyer mineral pan and this one takes the cake. I love it and it's a little lighter than the carbon steel and it seems to hold it's seasoning layer better as well. I usually clean them by running them under hot water in the sink after cooking and the DeBuyer will sometimes lose some of it's seasoning but the SolidTeknics does not.Initial seasoning was easy. I did the oil/salt/potato peels method a couple times, cooked some sausage and bacon and other really oily/greasy stuff and fried eggs were slipping off onto the plate not a day later.

Can't get the pan to season properly
I've tried the recommended method several times with my husband sanding down the pan after the first time. I used vegetable lard in a very thin layer. Oven seasoned at least 3 times. The first time I cook something, always with oil, most of the seasoning comes off. Had hubby sand again, then tried a method from America's Test Kitchen where i cooked potato peels and onions. The pan came out a lovely shade of dark seasoning. Cooked eggs with oil, again seasoning is splotchy at best. If I soak the inside of the pan in water for a few minutes, more seasoning comes off. I have sever cast iron pans and a large Chef King 7 Gauge Steel Griddle and all are well seasoned and a dream to cook on so I don't think it is my seasoning skills that are causing my issues... but very well could be.

Quality and durable pan. Worth getting one if you're willing to learn how to use it properly.
Perfect for cooking eggs. I use it when I want a single egg, sunny side up or over easy. You can do scrambled also. But I usually use an omelette pan for that. Also good for small amounts of sides like mushrooms, veggies or small amounts of meat. It is very durable. Very difficult to break if you can manage to do it. Works well as a way to defend yourself if necessary. I also love the fact that it's all one piece. Makes it much easier to clean and season. First time seasoning can be a bit of a pain, but it's definitely worth the effort. Once the seasoning begins to stick it's smooth sailing.

Buy once and cry once
Awesome pan. Once seasoned I started off cooking steaks and burgers in it. Now it is the best egg pan I've ever had. Plan to get the larger size as well.
